AKFIRE 558 style Airsoft red dot (EOTECH clone), review

- Hey everybody welcome back to another episode of Muddy Reviews, in this video we are checking out the AKFIRE Airsoft 558 redot sight (EOTECH clone). These Black and FDE versions both came from Amazon and were surprisingly good replicas for the price.
I picked these up because I was looking specifically for a decent-quality 558 replica for Airsoft use. During my initial look the AKfire Eotechs all seemed to be of marginal to poor quality from all of the Amazon reviews I saw on these so I wrote them off and then after talking to a friend of the channel @Stuka83 I realized I had pretty much made my mind up prematurely so I bought one. I liked it well enough that we now have 3, 2 in FDE and 1 in Black. I will say the black is a little less impressive because the finish is not nearly as matte as another 558 replica we have coming to the channel soon.

Now you will see in the Amazon listing the optics show to not be trademarked at all and that was exactly what I saw when I bought mine surprisingly they showed up fully trademarked. Your mileage may vary on this and it may not show up with trades it may show up with trades I do not know. What will matter is if it is the same model I received it will have decent back glass, a tolerable reticle, and a decent finish and look good on your Airsoft replica. I 100% do not recommend these for use on your real AR15 or AK. If you want an Eotech for that then buy a real EOTECH these are for the BB LARPING life.
All in all, I think the AKFIRE EOTECH 558 repro is pretty decent and I am quite happy with my purchase(s) and think you will be too. Especially if you have some Amazon gift cards burning a hole in your pocket. Whats the quality of the eotech clone magnifier? I wonder how durable they are. This the 2nd vid of ur channel ive watched and i dig it, love channels like this will definetly get my sub sor.
I'm glad you are enjoying the content so far and hope I did earn your sub. As for the AKFIRE magnifiers, I haven't bought one yet, but I will probably be getting one for my next rifle build as I am considering another AKFIRE 558 for that. When I do grab a magnifier, I will be doing a video and review on it for sure.
I heard that if you set it on green the visablity outside will be better.
I actually started using the green and it is much better outside. I didn't think to show that in the video but in a few recent games I did roll to green and liked it considerably better, Thanks for the heads up though and the comment.

Sadly those arent available via amazon up north. Amazon has a poor choice of such things up here.
The last cheap eotech i bought was years ago.. ended up selling it the back window was tinted dark and it was just impossible to see out off.. could see the crosshair really great.. but not whatever was in front of ya. Looking forward to you next review!

i brought this 558 on alibaba. the build quality is great so its pirce $30. only thing im trying to figure out is how do i turn it off. cant seem to find the on/off switch other than taking out the battery.
Hold the brightness buttons down at the same time. That should turn it off without removing the battery.

do you think that this specific replica would fit onto a 22mm rail? Because in description it says 20mm and im some people say the 20mm attachments fit on the 22mm rail and some say that they dont
These will probably not fit on an offspec rail. The Picatinny mount is very tight.
I have herd that the best replica is the holywarrior eo tech holos graphic sight but they cost around 100$
I have heard the sane thing, they retial around 135$ from some sellers in the US.

How well does the zero hold up on say a 9mm pcc?
I couldn't tell you, I only used these on Airsoft guns. Other folks have tried these and similar on AR rifles and they don't hold zero. It is my suspicion you would have a similar result with a 9mm PCC. But if you decide to get one and try it I would love to know your results.
I used one of these today. Good enough for cqb but a pain in the butt outside in a sunny day. 😢
I didn't mind it in the sun, the reticle wasn't amazingly bright but it was bright enough. It is better set to green vs red in the sun IMHO.
@@Muddy_Reviews by the way, I’m not sure it is exactly from the same manufacturer. I cannot see AKFIRE written anywhere but it came in the exact same box. No battery though…
There are other replicas out there that look very similar and are worse, some better.
Holy warrior eotechs arnt to shabbby i cna see the reticle in the sunkight and i habe there vortex and sig romeo t8 halo sights

Are these potted? I wonder how theyd fare with 5.56 recoil
I am fairly confident they won't fair well at all. That was apparently most of the negative feedback on Amazon about these optics. Folks were buying them for their real ARs and AKs and being upset when they didn't work.
The blue batteries are re chargeable buddy, don't throw them away
That is really useful information and I did not know that thanks. I have never seen any information or nomenclature that had said they were rechargeable.

Do they still have the eotech marlins on it 6 months later?
That I don't know for certain, but I would assume so. All the images on Amazon show no trades, but that was the same way when I ordered mine.

How long does the battery last?
Varies on how long it is on, but so far it hasn't needed a battery changed. If you forget to turn it off or it inadvertently is turned on it will kill the battery in a day or so.
