Yeah because he comes from a time in this business when wrestling was actually WRASSLIN...!!! And nothing was scripted "ad nauseam" to the point that the wrestlers today sound like robots. Back then if you had a gimmick you had to be creative in what you were going to say in your promos. And most importantly know how to get over your character with the fans whether you were a heel or face. There's a DAMN good reason why Ric Flair has ALWAYS been touted as THE BEST promo wrassler alive today. And also why his character got over so well after all the years he was in the ring. There will NEVER be another like him no matter how good the script is a given wrestler has memorized. It comes across as "artificial" and when the fans start realizing that. That's when promoters should start worrying. And yeah i'm talking TO YOU Vince...(g)

I met the One Man Gang at the airport in Greensboro NC one time back in the mid to late 1980's. I was sitting a couple of chairs from him. I had heard we had a pro-wrestling exhibition locally and asked him if he had participated. He was waiting on his flight out and I was waiting for my husband to fly in. We sat, chatted about his wrestling and laughed. He was a very nice guy. Intimidating by his size (I am 5'2"), but he was very sweet!

OMG One Man Gang classic promo on Hacksaw Jim Duggin and memories of the late great Big Boss Man. Thank you Bill Aptor. As a kid watching the matches, and bought your magazines, I felt wrestling was real sport. Pro Wrestling is a great sport then, now, and forever. Uniting people. Building family.
It was so great watching the gang in his prime back in the day on Saturdays back when we had 2 tv channels growing up. He was just a big bad dude !! I would rather listen to a legend like one man gangs stories for days on end rather than watching 45 seconds of todays wwe programing. doubt I could keep interested for that long a.
I thought the akeem character was hilarious . But really they should have kept him as one man gang for the twin towers team. Would have been taken more serious and possibly won the belts .
Gang is a teddy bear,a really great guy in real life,he scared the heck out of me when I saw him the 1st time,I was a little boy and thought wrestling was real,but Gang was and is an awesome guy...best wishes.
It was an awesome promo. He didn’t need to read off a script written by a “writer”; he just got into the One Man Gang persona and deliver the promo right on the spot. The promo was natural and convincing, not stale and filled with hesitation like those scripted promos.
I really hope I can meet him some day. I consider OMG to be the greatest heel in the history of the sport. That's just my opinion, but I grew up watching him, and there was something just terrifying about him when I was young. Its funny to be scared of something and also like it at the same time. Plus, he just seems like a great guy in general.
As a kid when they announced One Man Gang to the ring i got scared and excited all at same time. I love OMG. Wwe shouod have given him a good title run. All the matches him and hogan had they could have flipped it back and fourth
George Gray...What a legend. I don't think it was right AT ALL of the WWE to not include him in Ray Traylor's WWE HOF induction ceremony. I think Ray would have wanted that and for them to be stubborn about it because of George's "personal business" decision at the time. In my honest opinion was just flat out wrong. They could have put there "differences" aside for one night and allowed him to attend. After all, Jim Hellwig who had YEARS of "heat" on him from that company was eventually inducted into the HOF. So SHAME ON YOU WWE for not being the bigger person here. Otherwise, Gang has put on a TREMENDOUS amount of weight since his last matches where he was looking pretty damn slim. Especially for a guy whose 6'9 and well over 400lbs. It's unfortunate he can't get in the ring anymore but i can clearly understand the health reasons/risks involved. So on that note THANK YOU Gang for ALL the great memories you provided me. You were truly one of THE BEST heels in this business.
I grew up in OKC watching Mid South & attending live events at The Myriad Convention Center downtown... my best friend worked at KFC and One Man Gang came in there and ordered like 3 dinners just for himself. LOL
Good to see him =) total respect. He was a really cool heel back then , belonging to the blessed golden era . HAHA HE KNOWS HOW TO CUT A DAMN PROMO hahah yeaaaah
OMG forgot to mention that he was in the UWF, right before he joined the World Wrestling Federation ( what it was called back in the day), but it was good to see how he's doing these days.

Awesome! He was a great heel, and had excellent mobility for his size. Glad to see despite his injuries he still pretty much has his faculties.
