      You are right and this is where our University education fails. Right now, it is worse because of IT industry situation.
      When demand is many times less than supply, companies become greedy and would like to get experienced professionals for lower positions.
      Having said that, here are a few things:
      A. You can still get ECBA certification from IIBA or BCS, even if you don't experience
      B. In these trying times, you can try for Internship positions
      C. If feasible, delay your transition. Its likely that IT industry situation will become better in 3-6 months.

      Theoretically speaking yes. But you need to consider 900 hours of experience in any 4 of the knowledge areas as per BABOK

    I am software tester with 7 years of experience. In order to switch to BA role can i take CBAP certification? Please suggest the best help

      @TechcanvassAcademy  Před 23 dny

      You can if your work does include 7500 hrs of BA work in the last 7 years. Also, CBAP will also be good if you are already familiar with the BA work.
      But if you are completely new to BA activities, then CBAP may not help that much.
      For you, we suggest that you start with learning BA skills (If you are not fully conversant) and then try and get the role change in your own organization. Then later, you can go for CBAP.

    I have 4 years of experience in procurement & 3.3 years of experience as a SME in Amazon which is kind of more like a BA roles & responsibilities. In order to switch to a BA title/role my relevant experience is not much releated to service sector BA role. So I'm planning to take CBAP examination but the eligibility should be 5 years of related BA experience which I don't have. Can you help me how to approach this?

      You don't need to wait for CBAP, you can go for CCBA (3 years exp). But more than the certification, you need to learn the BA skills, techniques and methodologies needed and that's a must. Interviews and actual job will demand that knowledge. I am talking about the skills as mentioned - businessanalyst.techcanvass.com/skills-for-business-analysts/

      Graduation is not an eligibility criteria. www.iiba.org/business-analysis-certifications/cbap/

    What you mean by multi dimensional? Please elaborate

    • @TechcanvassAcademy
      @TechcanvassAcademy  Před 6 měsíci

      Multi-dimensional here refers to having experience of working in variety of roles, challenging situations etc.
      For example, a Banking professional only working as a teller (Who tenders money or accepts deposits) for his/her entire career is uni-dimensional.
      But he/she decided to work as a loan officer, handling other sections in the bank makes his/her experience multi-dimensional.

    I have read that CBAP can be taken if you have 4+ years of experience?

    • @TechcanvassAcademy
      @TechcanvassAcademy  Před 7 měsíci

      Its abouy 7500 hours of overall experience in Business Analysis in the last 10 years.
      If you consider around 160 hours of work per month, it takes around 47 months, exactly 4 years. This is conditional to the fact that all your work is business analysis related, which may not be true for most of the cases.
      So, to be on safe side, it is considered to be 5 years. Hope this clarifies.
