Gibson J-45 True Vintage Banner

This guitar is a 2014 Gibson J-45 True Vintage acoustic guitar in red spruce and mahogany. It has that typical dry thumpy sound that the vintage Gibsons are prized for. It excels as both a blues Fingerstyle instrument but also as a great strummer and folk style instrument as well. The tone is very mature for such a new instrument. I personally prefer these True Vintage guitars over the newer Historic collection by just a little bit. Maybe its the fact this one has been played a lot so its wide open though.... who knows but this one is a great instrument!!

Just saw this. Liked. Man, I love that tone - never having paid attention to GIbson before. Strummed....love it for group worship, I imagine. The problem with getting this tone is $$$$. 🤣 Well done.

And all of your recordings are with the same mic setting - i.e. eq, reverb etc? Is it just a clean feed recording? GREAT work - allowing us to get educated with tone. 99% of us do not have the access you have - or the skills...:) Can actually do work and have this in the background....LOL!

Thanks yeah certain guitars I've had to lower the mic settings just a notch because they can overpower the mic but yeah I'm just using an Apogee Brand Mic about 5-6" from the 12th fret. Directly into my iMac.

Have you compared this to a standard J-45. That’s what I have. I heard these banners are incredible. Imagine it’s noticeably better but figured I’d ask

I really want to like J-45s but dreads are so bass heavy.
