Making a second wooden chair for kids - DIY

  • A few years ago I made a kids chair. Now I had to make a second one out of spruce. I also made a few fine tunings to the first one.

    The second chair looks much better. However your design does not take into account the seasonal expansion and contraction of wood across the grain. Your seat bottom is going to expand and contraqct front to back causing cracks in the joints with your back and from legs. Your back rest is going to expand and contract up and down [ossibly causing bowing of the back rest or cracking of upright at the top. You should have left gaps on the edges. Not criticising, just trying to help.

      Ευχαριστώ. Για εμένα που δε θέλω σούπερ ακρίβεια ούτε πλανίζω μεγάλες ποσότητες ξύλου, δουλεύει μια χαρά αρκετά χρόνια.
