After my chief mate license, I’ve decided to continue my sea time… except not on a containership.
I’ve always strive to make good use of my spare time when working on a ship (ie. Shooting maritime videos) and so I was thrilled when I have had the opportunity to help with relief work/medical aid missions onboard the M.V. YWAM PNG
In this video, I vlog about my life at (uncharted) sea, what is it that we are doing and the special work done by all the volunteers onboard.
One of the most amazing moments I have had so far was witnessing a old man, blind for 15 years, having his eyesight restored onboard our ship. The man in tears, on his knees, repeated the sentence with joy and gratitude saying “Thank you! Thank you! Now I get to see my grandchildren”

Getting experience as a first officer on a ship with 150 crew members doesn't hurt either.
One day your life as a mariner will come to an end but this, this will impact the future forever. Great deeds.
Wow. At first, I was just floored by the amazing footage that you had put together into a video, but then I was blown away to learn that you were volunteering on this mission, and the good it's doing. So on top of seeing you making an absolutely stunning video, I've learned that this floating, mobile sailing hospital exists and is staffed by volunteers. That is beyond cool, Dude ! But if ever there comes a time when you can no longer do this, you could easily fall back on your talents of (shooting and) stitching together video footage into useful productions. All the previous vids I've seen of yours have been great, but this one takes the cake... Absolutely riveting from the opening shot. Even your narration is excellent. I hope the balance of your time on the M.V. YWAM PNG goes well and that the mission there does lots of good for the citizens there and wherever it may go. So happy that you discovered YWAM! At a similar stage in my own shipping career in the 1990s I encountered Mercy Ships which is an offshoot from YWAM Ships. My eyes were opened, life changed, and I cherish those days of volunteering with organizations like Mercy Ships, FriendShips, OM Ships and learning about the many other maritime missions.
