PS. that bear canister makes a great camp-stool before you go to bed or for breakfast. Dual use product. Just set upside down overnight if it might rain.

The Hoh trail is gorgeous, but has crowds as of in a mall. Olympic definitely has other trails just as nice that are way more desolate which is nice.

The beauty of being in the "enchanted" forest is magical. The camping area is perfect. The moss and the ferns are so Pacific Northwest and I love it. Great to see you and hope all is well with the family.

We haven't spent much time in this part of the state before -- it's so beautiful and worth many more visits!

One question for you: what are the dates of this hike? Would be nice to be able to place the scenery and weather onto a date. Thanks for the great video.

Get yourself an Ursack instead of the hard bear container; we really like y'alls videos and enjoyed seeing the both of you become a new mom and dad, children are a true blessing...

Thanks for the tip! That giant canister was such a hassle. We figured there was a better way 😅

Some areas do require the hard canister rather than just a hanging bag. So I just bring the canister everywhere bears can be found so I don't need to research each trip so throughly and buy extra gear. You can stuff more than food / smelly stuffs in it to utilize the space it takes

The common name of that mushroom you pictured at 10:11 in your video is "Chicken of the Woods." It is a good edible when young and tender. As it ages, one wants to harvest only the outer edges. Paul Stamets, an internationally recognized mushroom expert who lived near Shelton--perhaps still does, but I am unsure--has posted several videos on it here on CZcams, including at least one where he prepares and eats it.

Check the weather forecast and plan accordingly. Other than that, it was a really straightforward and pleasant hike.

Sadly when I see a tent nowadays, I inadvertently get upset. It's ridiculous what the corrupt politicians on the west coast have been able to create in just a short period of time.
