When we were teens we also just followed basic trends and didnt think outside of the box. Her being picky is to be expected. She will get more fun to shop with as she gets older!
I graduated in 2008. The tighter fitting button up with the lace on top was like 90% of my high schools style lol it’s weird how everything comes back around. It’s really taught me a lot about getting rid of things.

Gen X kids! I can relate to all those aesthetics although back in my day with no Pinterest, IG, or TicTok, we just bought what was available at the stores! As you get older you realize fashion is a cycle that keeps coming back and dressing in what makes you feel beautiful and confident is the most important thing! Great video!

Haley girl, I’m with you. I’m a millennial, born in 1989. My eras are the 90s and 2000s, and it’s crazy that the clothes I wore back in the day, is back in style.
Younger generations by into the nostalgia, but have no idea how hard it was for us. I wore low rise jeans all the time thinking I was all that, but now I wouldn’t wear them today because my body is not the same as it was back then. Anyways I really enjoy your thrifting content. Doing my very best thrift more of my clothing.
Yes 💯! I remember us looking back and cringing so hard about what we used to wear and agree, so much of what trending is not body inclusive at all! I would definitely not be comfortable wearing low rise with this postpartum belly 😂

How hard it was for you is literally irrelevant, it’s fashion, it always cycles back around
When high waist mom jeans were trending and everyone was bashing low rise it sucked because high waist is not inclusive for everyone either. Its uncomfortable and painful for some bellies its not ideal for certain heights and if yiu have bigger bussoms it can make them look low and give grandma shape. Im glad everyone wearing whatever they like now

I have the feeling that at a certain age you just wear certain things/ it's popular. I'm not from the USA, but we also had different phases (high school = leggings and oversized hoodies). And I take care of young people (around age 14/15/16) and they also wear the same clothes as I did back then haha

I don't like being one of those grownups that makes a deal with what teenagers are into. We were all teenagers once whether we were in high-school or late teens during the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. Its part of maturity and figuring out your identity.

I'm a GenZ also 17 and the style your sister likes at least where I'm from is pretty basic right now y2k fashion is huge here low waisted bedazzled butt jeans and little tops with funky jewelry is really in and definitely no skinny pants......lots of alternative styles as well. :D

I really feel like the reason I can't what's in style now is because it's like high school and I'm a different person now, clothes and all. And going back just to keep up with a trend is like someone who's 19 now being given the option to dress as they did when they were 6.
