Pretty sad when you get to a certain point in the game and notice everything is going downhill
I know right. They did so well in a way not giving us what we want, it made the story all that much better in my opinion

I think it's the weight of how he says it. It sounds heavy, it sounds worn down, it sounds like someone who has stopped caring, who has given up.
He didn't just "say the line" he made it feel like he meant it.

I've spent like 150 hrs on my first playthrough. I don't regret it

Arthur saying "Maybe when your mother's finished mournin' your father, I'll keep her in black... on your behalf." is one of my favorite lines in the entire game. Really shows just how cold he could be

@@sea6487 well he wasnt a good man but it did seem like he was against loansharks. The first time Herr Strauss asks you to collect debts Arthur doesnt seem to like the thought of it. Even bad guys have some standards!

I know people can choose how Arthur’s final mission will be, but in my opinion saving John Marston will a high honor is the TRUE ending of Arthur Morgan.
Of course the true ending is how the game should end. Because where Arthur died in that ending, is where Dutch Will.

If you didn’t get the “I’m afraid” cutscene. You didn’t play the game right. 😭❤️ The best cutscene... Made me cry. 🥺
that is why rockstar is cool though. it gives the better experience to people that care enough to play all the game offers. for people that dont care about some of the stranger missions just wont unlock it and have to do with the swanson cutscene. For people that dont do the strauss missions wont get a big moral change for arthur kicking strauss out and actually getting to choose for once whether to take debts or not. The base story is still good, but the true story rockstar made that is barried in doing all you can as arthur and not rushing the story is what makes it a great story and only one true players will receive. While you could argue it was a dick move to add very important character moments in what was advertised as such side content to me that is what makes it great because rockstar is basically saying if you dont care enough to try it then we dont care to give you the best send off.
I didnt know that scene until now and i feel bad there was so much stuff i skipped i just cared for story and no other secrets and now look i cant even continue past leopold strauss
@@guitarman0365 I remember doing the mission when Arthur first gets TB and I didn't know he was gonna get it, but I didnt want to beat the guy, I was hoping there was gonna be a different option but all it said was press O to beat and i was like WhY!?
Im know im late but when i Saw that comment i say no there is no right things to do in a story mode its your gameplay and you decide what to do so no that aint the right way to do it

Ive been playing games since i was 4 years old, ive played through tons of stories and experienced some of the most human stories in games but something about the story of Arthur Morgan, in a matter of 50 hours of gameplay he became my favorite protagonist, a true story of redemption, it makes me sad that a game like this is truly rare

*spoilers* He’s my fav protagonist of all time now, The game makes you Care about Arthur and the gang so much and well my horse... I didn’t realise I cared so much about him until he died, it’s strange never thought I’d miss playing as a video game character lol

Right? The contrast with the background dialogue saying he's a "sick man" with that scene where he offers to turn himself in to protect jack and the rest of the gang just makes it all the more heartfelt.

One of the best games this generation,should have gotten GOTY award.GOW and RDR2 have great stories and gameplay,but RDR2 was more emotional,and i enjoyed it more,trying to get 100% completion on it,cause its worth it.

Arthur Morgan always felt like a real person when I played with him. Like his journey and emotions were inherently real and makes you sympathetic about his struggle. What a fine masterpiece of a game.

i wish there was an ending where Arthur dies in his last stand saving john. It would make his sacrifise even more meaningful
I am glad arthur is dead. Think of the big picture. John was forced to kill all the main gang members. Arthur would be one of them for sure. I don't want to be forced to kill Arthur.
An ending where Arthur runs away with Mary. It doesn't affect RDR1 at all.

Best game story ever, i dont think a fictional character has had a greater impact on me than Arthur.
This is one of the reasons I love rockstar, they make you actually feel for the characters, unlike many other games
