Ahhh, the A1, my favourite place to go and watch 'Lorry Racing'. The rules are simple - one lorry does 58mph in lane 1 while another lorry does 58½mph next to it in lane 2! Prize goes to the lorry causing the longest tailback.

There's a LOT of that between Peterborough and Ferrybridge.

As a southerner-turned-northerner, I maintain that the north is far superior.

Very nice timelapse, this one is more updated than the other video uploaded in 2016 by "Time Lapse of UK Roads" when the Leeming Bar to Scotch Corner motorway upgrade was not yet completed and shown under construction, but in this one it is completed. Still though, not all the roadworks along the A1 are completed even now, for example, ones in this video like the black cat roundabout upgrade and the Birtley to Coal House improvement scheme are shown under construction. But it looks like it wouldn't be possible to drive the entire length of the A1 without seeing any roadworks. Because it is the longest numbered road in the UK, there's a very high certain chance that you would find at least one type of roadwork somewhere along the route at any given time. Overall, this video is really satisfying to watch for me, and I like all the effort put into it🙂

As of the time this video is uploaded, there is uninterrupted dual carriageway and motorway all the way from about 1:57 to 12:29, although this may change if the Morpeth to Ellingham scheme happens. I have realised as well that you chose a very good day to film this on, because like you said in the description, you didn't hit too much traffic and the weather was also really nice throughout most of the video 👍

If only the journey was that quick. It's almost like a fighter jet flying 3ft off the ground.

Nice one, enjoyed that. Is the ending a clue for the next A road to get the same treatment 😉

Great, but Durness? I think you meant Dunbar; the only Durness is a lot further north!
