Kevin, I lived in Atlanta for many years all my relatives are from there but I spent 27 in Florida. You will enjoy my grandma’s recipe.
1 cup of full fat butter milk
    1/3 cup of mayonnaise
2 cups Gold Medal Self-Rise flour
Blend mayonnaise in buttermilk throughly. Pour into flour. It will be a very think wet batter. Put 1 cup of the self rise flour in a 2 “ deep brownie pan then dump the dough in there and flow over letting the flour coat the batter, and fold about 6-8 times until you can mash it to 1 1/2” thick. Then cut out your biscuits and bake them in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes until light golden brown brushing them liberally with melted butter. (You will never know there is Mayo in the recipe. For a more tangy biscuit, Dukes Mayo is marvelous.
    YOU’RE WELCOME!

I love making homemade biscuits! When my daughter was small, she always loved eating the butter and the flour even before the biscuits were cooked. But the very last biscuit, I didn’t cut it with the biscuit cutter, was formed by hand into the “ugly biscuit“ and my daughter always loved to eat the “ugly biscuit“ as it always had some extra crispy points on it. And it was a special biscuit 😉 Thanks for the wonderful memory! 😊

Sundays at Kevin's house. Having my coffee while visiting. Beautiful produce at the farm store, and fun to see Harry the greeter dog at work. I love the bouquet you created. Maybe you can use the Veronica flower in a Forth of July bouquet, kind of looks like a firework. Lovely summer bouquet. The strawberry jam looks delicious with the creme fraiche and biscuits. Orange spice tea seems like the perfect accompanying beverage. Kevin, I reached for my pearls, but forgot to put them on yet today. I have made apple jam before, with sliver chunks of apple in it. But I processed it in hot water. Fun, but a project. I will have to try making strawberry freezer jam. It's definitely strawberry season right now around here. The fresh summer strawberries taste wonderful! Blueberries start in early to mid July. I have a friend who grows blueberries and will probably go and spend part of a day picking blueberries. Actually a relaxing activity, but I end up munching on blueberries while picking them. Anyway, thank you for the video. Enjoy your Sunday and see you next time.♥️💐🌸💮🍓🍰🫖🫐🌼🐕

It's been so long since I made jam with sugar, I'd forgotten how much sugar goes into it. I use Pamona pectin. Since I don't use sugar, the jam isn't as loose as those with added sugar. For a bit of sweetness, I add a bit of monkfruit sweetener. Mine isn't as sweet as regular jam, but very tasty and much healthier. I eat mine for breakfast daily, so I need a jam that's less of a treat food.

The countryside in your area is so beautiful. You may want to try making biscuits with heavy whipping cream. When I am in a hurry for biscuits, I use only two ingredients-White Lily self-rising flour and heavy whipping cream-I just pour the heavy whipping cream into the flour a little bit at a time until I get the right consistency; then, proceed as with any other biscuit recipe. These biscuits turn out perfect every time!!! I usually use two cups of flour and about a cup of heavy whipping cream-this is a very easy amount to work with.

Our grocery stores only carry the giant beautiful yet flavorless California strawberries. I don't use pectin to make strawberry jam. I cook equal parts strawberries & sugar with a splash of lemon juice. I'm allergic to fresh fruits and vegetables but can eat them cooked or canned. That's why I cook my strawberries. You gave me a good idea though. Next time I make jam I will put them through the blender first. That way I won't have to mash them. Thank You, and as usual, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I grow some strawberries, however, I went to my local farm to buy a big enough amount to make jam. I can mine but use the same sure-jell yellow box too. I also had homemade biscuits with strawberry jam earlier today. I think your flower arrangements always look very pretty. Your videos are so calming.

Reminds me I need to make my freezer strawberry-rhubarb jam. I never use pectin anymore. It's expensive and doesn't always work, so I just cook it longer. 🥰

Flowers are lovely. My brother owned a flower shop for 30 some years and when we delivered a a soft flowers we always put a tsp of bleach in the water then and after every change this helped prevent slimy leaves and stocks also kept the water clear. Thx for all your great videos 🇨🇦

Wonderful. I love biscuits. Thank you for taking us on a drive again. You live in such a beautiful area. We do get excellent strawberries at our local farmers market. The ones at our grocery store aren't great. Multiple varieties are sold in farmers markets here in Oregon. My favorite is the Mary's Peak variety. We have beautiful cherries and peaches too. Thank you for another calming bit of serenity in this crazy world.

I use strawberries in several jams and don’t use pectin. In strawberry rhubarb jam I simmer it for 30 minutes or so before putting it in jars for the water bath canner. Texture is not totally firm but is fine for toast. Other strawberry jams I make have natural pectin from either blueberries, cranberries or apples and the sugar amount is about half that of the fruit. Your videos are wonderful. The word ethereal comes to mind. Thank you for all your work to bring us moments of grace and serenity.

Your biscuits turned out perfectly Kevin. I also make freezer jam but the product I use does not require adding the pectin separately and it only calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar to 4 cups of prepared berries. It is delicious! I also do freezer peach jam when in season. Lovely episode as always. Thank you.🙏❤️🍓🍓

I am finally writing you. You and all you do inspire me greatly. I have been watching and always forget to subscribe (now I did). I am a native Nréw York City girl living in Frankfurt, Germany. I know Upstate NY well. When I watch you drive here and there, I can literally recall the wonderful smells of Upstate New York. New York will always be in my heart. Watching you brings back such wonderful memories. You are such an inspiration to me for the way in which you live. Respect. I have tried many of your recipes and use many of your ideas. I watched an older podcast and I saw that you had a beagle. I baby sit or beagle sit for a beagle who is the love of my like. Avery (name correctly spelled ?), is also a cutie. Thank you so very much for sharing you life with us and please continue to do so.

I really enjoyed watching you make the jam and biscuits! I live in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania! Our strawberries are less sweet this year than usual because of the unusually warm and dry weather! They are always a treat, regardless! Take care my friend! ❤️

Oh Kevin I am so envious of your local markets. What a great idea using coconut oil in biscuits. Since I have some I will try this. I haven't made freezer jam in 40 years and yes our grocery berries taste like cardboard. I love all of your videos. Stay well and I look forward to your next post.

I made 24 jars today and used Club House low sugar freezer jam jelly,,,,, it is very good, i used 4 cups of strawberries to 1 cup of sugar... we love less sugar jams, but i learned something new today tho... mash the strawberries in the food processor ! I had 2 flats of strawberries from our local farm.....took me 5 hrs , it was a rainy day , perfect for jamming 😊
