      Great question! I didn’t previously recommend it for the short version, as it was a lot of extra work and rarely paid off (unless you were filming in person with guests, more like a talk show). However, CZcams just announced that they’re adding podcasts in a new way to CZcams music, so this might be worth exploring: www.theverge.com/2023/2/23/23611985/youtube-music-podcasts-background-listening

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před 11 měsíci

      Great question. There’s no one right answer, since I think each type suits different types of creators. I’d ask yourself where you think your audience is most likely to go to find that type of content on that topic, and then I’d recommend a bit of competitor research. (Also, your preferences matter if one sounds more interesting to you than the other.) I hope that gives a helpful starting point!

    Great content! Can you add intro/outro music with Zincaster?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Great question. Zencastr does include some very basic editing features, and I do think you’re able to have a standard intro/outro saved to your account on certain paid plans. That said, I don’t typically recommend or use Zencastr for editing - just recording - so I’d check out Audacity, Hindenburg, or Descript (witandwire.com/descript)

  • @lauramarie6039
    @lauramarie6039 Před 2 lety +1

    Love this thanks! What about having my guest call in from their phone and I record via my Blue Yeti mic in Audacity? Would they need a mic or headphones if calling me from an iPhone or FaceTime?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question. If you record the phone or FaceTime call, it'll include both of your voices, which would make incorporating it with a separate Audacity recording of just you challenging. So for that reason, it's probably not a strategy I'd recommend. If you want to use just the phone recording, then it's up to you about how you want the audio quality to be on both ends, and if you want a mic for you or your guest. But as long as they don't try and use speaker mode, they shouldn't need headphones unless the mic on the headphones has better audio quality.

    Thanks for this! For remote video interviews for CZcams (video showing host and guest), would you recommend Google Hangouts or Zoom? Isn't it easier to upload the video from Hangouts straight to CZcams or its pretty easy with Zoom as well

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před rokem

      Great question! For most remote recording tools, the publishing process will be similar (you would need to edit the podcast and then upload the finished episode file to your hosting platform), but if you’re looking for a tool that can directly post to CZcams, you might be looking at Riverside (witandwire.com/riverside) or Ecamm (witandwire.com/ecamm); both of which have livestreaming functionality in addition to the option to download the audio/video files for editing. I hope that helps!

    Hi! I have a question. Using Zencastr, if both of us are using headphones, will Zencastr record both video and audio of both the participants?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před rokem

      Great question! Yes, that's exactly right. For each person who joins the recording room, Zencastr will record their audio OR their audio + video, if that's what's selected. And everyone in the recording should at least wear headphones, or if you have one, you'd also use a microphone. (So if you're using both, the microphone would record your audio, an the purpose of headphones is to reduce echo from the other person's voice coming out of your computer if you weren't wearing them.)

    When you record can you hear your voice and the guests voice in your headphones? If so how?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question. You should always be able to hear your guest in your headphones. But depending on the tool you use, there's usually an option to turn your own voice on or off. In Zencastr, it's under the "Settings" menu in a recording, and it's called "Monitor." I usually record with it off, but I always do sound checks before every recording. I hope that helps!
