Uganda - Murchison Falls National Park - 25/28 July 2023

Murchison Falls National Park - with a beautiful lodge: Murchison River Lodge. This lodge is located in the middle of Murchison Falls National Park. Because of its location right on the Nile, you can hear groups of hippos sunbathing in the water from the restaurant. And during a dip in the pool, you will be surrounded by green meerkats.
The Murchison River Lodge has different types of tents and cottages. All facilities are well taken care of, making this a comfortable lodge in a nice spot in the park!
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest wildlife park and is split in two by the Nile River. The landscape varies from dense rainforest in the hilly southwestern part to flat savannas in the northwest. Murchison Falls is one of the greenest parks in Africa because of its location on the Nile. Perhaps the most impressive thing that happens to the Nile on its long journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea are the Murchison Falls.
The early game drives are fantastic. Murchison Falls National Park is known for the rare Rothschild giraffe, but we also saw buffalo, Uganda kobs, oribis and hartebeest here, for example. We also saw lions with cubs and a leopard with his prey in the tree. We also saw Africa's fastest monkey: the hussar monkey which can develop a speed of up to 55 km per hour.
The boat ride to the base of Murchison Falls as well as the boat tour to de Delta / Lake Albert were fantastic. We saw a lot op hippo's, a crocodile and other wildlife. The walk to the top of the falls was worth every penny, it was so beautiful to see the falls from so close.
