It is until you have chronic joint problems in your feet, shoulders and knees. The amount of BJJ practitioners who get significantly injured by the time they are 35 is huge.

BJJ is amazing; often times I see people new to the sport (generally older guys stand out) and they are somewhat uncomfortable; just know we all have been there before and the community is strong and we want you there. Some day it will be a “school sport”, start training or you will get mangled easily

As a black belt in jiu jitsu, I would say wrestling is the ultimate sport if you start as a child. Jiu jitsu is the best when starting as an adult. MMA is the ultimate competitive sport for sure.
As a child, gymnastics is the best sport. Late teens/Young adult is boxing. Middle age is MMA (but learn your judo!)
