There are celebrity best friends and then there are Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, as Josh Smith finds out in his latest column, ‘Josh Smith Meets’ where the Dune co-stars open up about the power of their friendship, pressure and protecting their mental health.
Not many can truly understand the fandom that follows Zendaya and Timothée’s every post and move. Zendaya’s 110 million Instagram followers have followed her from her Disney Channel days all the way to The Greatest Showman, the Spiderman franchise and her Emmy award winning performance in Euphoria. Whilst Timothée’s 14.1 million Instagram fans who have keenly followed him since that Oscar nominated performance with a certain peach in Call Me By Your Name to Little Women have dedicated their lives to creating fan art, including infamously superimposing Timothée into masterpiece art works.

His acting is hot too. People who have great personalities and great talent become more attractive anyway.

@@alba4307 Well that's not how this works and I think that is good to make your co-stars interact doing promo to polish the chemistry and to make people like and get used to the pairing.
I mean it worked, people love their frienship now and I'm sure that hypes up the sequel even more. Flaunting two of the most popular young actors right now is just really good marketing.

@@stephen9609: EXACTLY!! That too!! I’m in the U.S. AND “Dune” ‘officially’ just came out yesterday- but I have seen it twice already! And DEFINITELY in IMAX!!! I saw it on a regular screen - at the Mill Valley Film Festival - and met Denis Villeneuve & his great wife & also Producer to this movie - and it was lovely already - but definitely MUCH BETTER IN IMAX!! (but if there aren’t any IMAXs around your area - the regular big screen will STILL DEFINITELY be better than watching it ‘just’ on TV..!) 😓😥🥺 That will be a crime!! How did Denis V. put it: “That would be like driving a motorboat in your bathtub!!” ☹️🙁

Two beautiful, intelligent, educated and talented young adults. They are great role models and will definitely be legends in the future.
I really liked the casting of Timothee of Paul, but I was initially skeptical of Zendaya as Chani. But after seeing the movie and all these new interviews, I change my mind, these two were meant for each other. Not to sound cliche but Paul and Chani weren't just a couple, they were soulmates. These two actors have exactly that special energy and chemistry needed. I can't wait for Part 2 and the rest of the sequels (if ever made)
I read the books after finding out Zendaya was in Dune and just watched it in the cinema, imo I think she nailed Chani. I agree, Timothée & Zendaya's real life bond will be great on screen as their relationship unfolds. I can't wait for the next movie (if there is one and if so, hoping for a trilogy lol).

I’m not judging you, because I haven’t seen a lot of her work so to me I thought her look matched (from what I remember from the book)but I’m curious if you perhaps saw past work or if like you took the book differently?☺️☺️ always interested in others perspective.

I always hear actors talk about gratitude like a disclaimer to the difficulties that come with their lifestyle. And I want to say that it's okay to be ungrateful sometimes, to feel shitty, to feel stressed, to FML. I know you can't do that for press and PR reasons, but I see you. I see the struggles. And the movie inspired me to read the series! Yay

What you say can be taken the wrong way because people don’t really get you and you have to know not to be friends with everyone cuz it can be tiring putting on a face for each person. That’s why I like how they said they’re glad they found their people who are also grounded.
