I work in catering and plastics in fridges are hygienic and are better than glasses. Because glasses break, and plastic doesn’t. We usually put fruits and vegetables in plastic containers our walking fridge at work.

Carrots in water,nielezee please
For the carrots you can just put them in a container and cover it with a lid they stay for long compared to putting them in water
They stay fresh & crunchy for a longer period of time
