Itzhak Perlman (Hebrew: יצחק פרלמן; born August 31, 1945) is an Israeli-American violin virtuoso, conductor, and master-instructor. He is widely considered to be one of the preeminent violin virtuosi of the 20th century.
Perlman was born in Tel Aviv, British Palestine, where he first became interested in the violin after hearing a classical music performance on the radio. He studied at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv before moving to the United States to study at the Juilliard School with the great violin pedagogue, Ivan Galamian, and his assistant Dorothy DeLay.
Perlman contracted polio at the age of four. He made a good recovery, learning to walk with the use of crutches. Today, he generally uses crutches or an electric scooter for mobility and plays the violin while seated.

Oh My God! He's super great performer!
Perlman is great of course, that accompanying pianist is also fantastic
The tone he is capable of producing is simply out of this world, what a performance
Best comment ever ❤
i love how natural everything is.
He was going so fast the video couldn't keep up with him! Very impressive :)
The pianist is the outstanding accompanist Samuel Sanders, by the way.
The piano and the violin are simply beautiful , this is a true work of art , this music to soothe the soul and heart wonderful !
I understand you.. for me ,his the best .. and his smile is very important..😊😅
bravo! amazing! master🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
breathtaking.
Perlman is the most naturally gifted violinist.
This is the reference of performing this piece. Perfect !
Sarah Chang plays it much more smoothly. Perlman rushes too much.
What about Heifetz?
That was great! Thanks for posting!
if you can play it slow you can play it fast
Slowly* quickly*
Makes it look effortless
Fenomenal!! Bravo Perlman!
Fabulous!
You commented this video 9 years ago as well 👏🏼👏🏼
Muchas gracias por compartirlo.
Sarasate meant for this piece to be fast, maybe even faster than this, so if anything, Perlman was doing a good job interpreting this piece.
Is it just my comp or is the sound quality squeaky.
It's not just you, it's squeaky with my comp too.
Its degraded. Very old
Sound quality is not good, but, but, it is an absolutely legendary performance of him, try listen to the music, it is by far the best introduction and tarentella i have ever heard
You are listening to the wrong recording 😂
this is fire
Only Mr.Perlman could play such full chords at the frog and up bow
Замечательно!
Amazing! I wish I could play like that!
Practice
El mejor violista de la era moderna
Perlman is a reincarnation of Sarasate himself.
Great
This composer had been a great skill violinist. H's a pasioned labourer or master.
He makes it look easy
I LOVE THIS SONG... I'M LEARNING IT NOW AND I LOVE IT!!! ITS SOOO PRETTY!!! :D
It's peice.
@@adityachoithani7063 close, it’s a piece. I appreciate the correction though

GRAN GRABACIÓN
Best version of this piece
ohhhhhhhhhhh dayum.
perlman gives me whiplash
still love him though
Devils speed
What did just happened
did people used to dance to this stuff?
Czy jest poza Perlmanem inny wykonawca który tak fantastycznie grałby utwory Sarasatego?
What's the title for this song???
It's Taranttela
Introduction and Tarentella by Pablo Sarasate :)
ajá
luz
so fast!!!!
Itzhak Perlman is kidding? What happens!
might learn this... sounds kinda hard
I'm playing this piece right now and it's not as hard as it sounds. He actually just plays it really fast and it makes it sounds much more difficult than it really is :)
Hi Daniel
Hay Grace Lee
Heifetz, Sarasate and 46 others are salty that someone has reached their greatness!

I usually love Perlman but I think he is playing too fast Introduction and Tarantella!!
Sorry for my bad english, I can't speek it very well.
ines choupa same
Do not worry about your English. The meaning is perfect.
Only music can touch nervous systems. (Not my quote)
11 years too late but I agree, I don’t mind the tarantella being that fast but the introduction is way too fast
Try the Heifetz version. Perfection
introduction part is played so fast. even i like almost every perlman recording, i didn't find it well played . whatever, you are still my idol Mr. Perlman!
put on 0.75 speed, these old recordings fast everything.
Heifetz and Milstein also play it at a similar pace.
Seems like you can't enjoy Perlman's dynamic too huh ... ¬¬'
WHY 14 dislikes????
The slow part should be slower wayyy slower when u play it fast sounds like an etude
really?? Listen to Sarasate and you will know that he plays it faster than perlman
@@vladimirvasquez8579 Where did you find the recording of Sarasate playing the introduction?
The Shadowman I was visiting his museum in Pamplona(Spain). They played this recording from an old recording and I think someone uploaded it here in CZcams.
@@vvmaster2010I’ve only heard the tarentella part recorded by Sarasate, ever heard the introduction
@mtan123456789 no they "think" they can play it better hahaha
I prefer Roberto Faria
Except for all those sharps and flats, HAHA!
While I do think Mr. Perlman is an excellent preformer, I felt like he played this peice with no compassion. The beggining felt way to quick and at times I felt like he played not because he wanted to, but because he had to.
Pa ul omg #getitwiththetimeslol I mean srsl that's his way
Sounds very slappy to me. His ups and downs are not even.
David Dyer You win the dumbass of the year award. Congratulations. 🎆
3 people can play this better
lol
I hate him so much.... He makes everything look WAY to east DX lol
Wy ??? His sound is so BEAUTIFUL 😍!!!!!!!!!!
The tempo is too fast.
so rediculous
Introduction is SHIT !!! but tarantella it's okey ... ;)
Salko Lekic yah agree
Terrible
