How to Make Crepe Paper Rose Center

  • This tutorial will show you how to make the center of a rose using gallica rose as emulation model. This center will also work for other rose variant like the damask, China, polyantha, floribunda, miniature and shrubs, among others. Below are the materials and measurement used (you may adjust it based on the weight of paper you are using, and/or your workflow):
    Egg yellow 40mm by 8mm (grain)
    Yellow 7mm by 15mm (grain)
    Yellow green 20mm by 17mm (grain)
    Light lemon 35mm by 20mm (grain)
    Light lemon 50mm by 25mm (grain)
    Tacky glue
    #20 gauge florist wire
    Tissue strips
    Colored marker

    I'm looking at the supplies list. I think that some of your paper measurements are incorrect. The yellow specifically.

    An extremely interesting tutorial. You spend as much time on the centers as someone people do on an entire flower.
    But it would be very nice if you would finish the flowers for the centers. In another tutorial.

    I hope you are going to make more video's. You are a master! Could you please tell us what pigments you use to color the petals? I am having an hard time trying to find out the best coloring materials that will last, it's too much work to let the flowers fade in a few months!
