- Clark Terry Sextet live in Montreux Jazz Festival, back at 1977.
In this piece Clark Terry (fl, tp) is playing the trumpet, using a plunger, or a harmon (Wah Wah) mute.
He is joined by an all star band including:
Oscar Peterson (p)
Ronnie Scott (ts)
Niels Pedersen (b)
Joe Pass (g)
Bobby Durham (dr)
Milt Jackson (vb)
In this
This is part of the Norman Granz (producer) collection.
I still cannot believe the synthesis of this setting. I know that Milt Jackson, Clark Terry and Oscar Peterson had a history of playing and recording together, but still... I'm so happy to have this live performance.
That is the kind of music which cannot be forgotten by jazz lovers !
THIS IS A GREAT PERFORMANCE OF ALL OF THESE MEN, OSCAR, NIELS, JOE, BOBBY, MILT, RONNIE & TERRY. YOU CAN JUST FEEL THE GOODNESS THEY HAVE IN PLAYING TOGETHER. I JUST LOVE THEIR MUSIC. SYLVIA - FL 8/15/2019
Clark Terry is pure butter!
How can a human being be so fluent and tasty on a vibraphone, this is unreal.
Classy Milt Jackson!
CT is in a league all by himself !
Milt Jackson is the boss!!!
What an all-star sextet this is! But how did Ronnie Scott get in there? Nah, just kidding. He was good too...
I agree with you Ronnie Scott isn't in the same class as the other musicians.
@@mugshot749 Maybe he booked them at his club and promised to pay them double.
Just Wonderful Playing From All Concerned. Slight Shame The Bass Is “ Over Loud”.
Not a lot wrong with this!!!
