You could get 55 hunter and use the Trapper's tipple drink from the hunters guild to boost to 57 & catch 3 pyre foxes for some mixed hide legs. They're similar to red d'hide chaps and players without the crafting level can pay Pellum at the hunter guild to make them for you. It probably wouldn't even take that long to get 70 hunter for the top and boots too, could be a guaranteed dps upgrade in 3 slots if the hard clues don't work out.
I also thought about Varlamore, until I noticed a pop up in the chat saying Path of Glouphrie was added to Quest helper...

Sulphur lizards require 44 slayer to kill but in the next clip where he goes to the lesser demons it says he has 46 so I don’t know how he missed that
For those curious, Settled had a 0.962% chance to get 4 or fewer adamant bolt drops from 66 spoils of war crates. Pretty ironic that in the next clip he estimated his chances of completing a hard clue at less than 1% because he essentially fell in the bottom 1% of luck gathering those bolts!

As somebody who has been grinding hard clues myself, he is absolutely sadistic for doing this lmao. SO many of them make you fight Saradomin Wizards (two attack styles; impossible), go to very deep Wildy (extremely risky), or finish various looong quest lines, most of which are too dangerous for Lowlife109. Just the Sara Wizards alone, I don't know if I've ever finished a clue that didn't have me fight at least one of those. Settled is a maniac and I can't wait to see him pull it off :)
Depending on the wizard spawn mechanics it may not be impossible.
Safespot behind an object/snares to provide safety against melee could work
@@tappajaav it COULD work but it'd be risky and really hard to test if its safe on another account, you'd have to grind clues on another acct til you get the same step. I doubt he would take that risk
That's where the clue juggling comes in, if you can gather 6 steps that aren't Sara Wizards etc. first step, you have the chance.

Gosh, the wizards tower brings back such a flood of emotions every time I see it. First time I started runescape it was PvP everywhere, no wilderness. The wizards tower was a terrifying place, but so intriguing to my young brain, haha.

It's both equally exciting and terrifying to see a new upload from this series, got all my fingers crossed for Settled
Settled avoiding smithing by figuring out a way to "cheat" soul wars is proof old school runescape's smithing is an awful skill to level with little reward or pay off haha.
In 18-20 hours I'm pretty sure you could have gotten the 73 smithing and 70 mining.
Maybe he could've.
But we humans often take the short, easy way, especially when presented with something that requires more time and effort.
There's a reason why our world is full of easy promises. Get-rich-fast schemes. Fad products for changing your body composition quickly into more favourable
(read: losing fat, gaining muscle)
To break down the choice you've presented and why he went with another option instead
1) He was very unlucky with the bolt drops. With average luck he would be done significantly quicker than he'd finish with requirements for making the bolts from scratch.
And he could've gotten the bolts even faster than that.
2) Perhaps he enjoys soul wars more than mining and smithing. It also provides ranged experience.
3) Soul wars makes for more entertaining footage. Hooray for surprise mechanics!
4) It also provides plenty of resources as a byproduct, though I'm not sure how beneficial those are to him
I'm not sure how far ahead he plans the account, but personally I think
grinding the levels instead of doing Soul Wars would've been the better choice long-term.

Essentially he wants to take a chance on one clue as motivation for the ranged grind
Black D hide is what Settled wants, but God D hide is even better, as it provides a +1 prayer bonus per piece, along with better defense!
of course, its a bit rarer than Black D hide itself, but still.
And if he gets UNGODLY LUCKY, there is also 3rd age Range equipment. In this case, While 3rd age is a pipe dream, and is most often cosmetic, There IS some benefit, as they provide Higher Magic Defense... except no prayer bonus. The 3rd age bow, on the other hand, would be a nice sidegrade, as it has +80 Ranged compared to the rune crossbow's 90, but fires faster, and can fire DRAGON ARROWS if desired.
All in all, This is actually a pretty worthwhile grind.
BY THE WAY: Can Settled go to zeah? if so, there is lizards in the volcano, and the only hazard is the floor (and the melee attacks of course), requiring the boots of stone. would be a bit safer than the Desert heat.

Kinda dumb to say, but 80hrs of ranged training would get you to probably 92ranged, which would be way more beneficial than *possibly* getting black d hide

Using a second account doesn’t seem in spirit with the challenge. Love the content just thinking allowing a second account complicates the rules. If it helps you stay sane during this challenge go for it though
