@@imanishay I live in Sweden, there's snow and ice a big portion of the year.
With a good set of winter tyres and starting from 2nd shift instead of the 1st one, the experience was a safe, stable and enjoyable ride. Manual transmission enables me to roll from 2nd shift right away, so I eliminate any potential wheel spin.
Great car all around. After selling it, I went and got an X-Trail as were having a child soon, and I wanted a bigger boot. That was the only thing with Qashqai, that the boot sometimes felt like lacking, whereas X-trail has space for days.
Check the documentation of how many owners, how many miles, maintenance of course, and feel the clutch. If in doubt, don't buy. There's probably 20 more models of the same type which will have a better clutch.
Also, beware - the 1.5 dCi has a dual mass flywheel, which could be costly to repair. Test a few different cars with the same engine and transmission, and You'll have a good benchmark. That's what I did

You are forgetting a very important point. The Qashqai residual value means it's by far the best car in it's class second hand for the money. And don't believe the reliability surveys as they examine a tiny cross section of the actual cars on the road. There is a reason why the Qashqai is the best selling car in it's class in the UK.

Anita S name any company and or product and you can find a story like yours. It’s called the law of averages. You won’t deal with Nissan again because you had a bad experience, the reality is Nissan are a massive and successful company because they make great products. It would be unlikely to happen again if you bought another Nissan car. You could have bought a Volkswagen and experienced the same issues, then you wouldn’t deal with VW again.

Ok. Cards on the table here. I currently own a 3 year old 3.0 diesel A6. Interior is the best I've had, it is a lovely place to sit. The engine is smooth, quiet and quick BUT this car lies to me. Official mpg is supposed to be 57 combined. The best I can achieve on a long run (which in fairness is what this car is designed for) is 47 mpg which is ok. Careful driving in mixed conditions is 40-41mpg. What gets me is the trip computer always overstates mpg by 2 or 3. I know what I get because I fill the tank and note fuel used and miles covered before resetting the trip. I've done this for 30k miles. I've discovered European makes (Audi, Renault, Ford and Vauxhall) are dishonest whereas Japanese makes are more accurate (Honda, Mazda and Toyota: I exclude Nissan because they are basically Renault). I will not buy another European car until they stop lying to their customers.

Nothing but issues with our 2018 Qashqai. With in a week of collecting it from the dealer, it went back in with an AdBlu error. We finally got it back 5 weeks later but we still have issues, including random stalling and power issues. Also random power drops meant we were left out in front of traffic and have almost been hit a few times. I won't even mention the auto braking randomly kicking in from time to time. Lots of reviews in videos are not absolutely correct. I have 1.3 qashqai and can say interior quality is great. Also reliability is falsely reported. First of all every 1 of 4 mid size suv is qashqai. Its selling hot for over 15 years so you'll hear enough bad reviews in comparison to suv like karoq which is only couple of years old and not that many karoq on road. Qashqai reliability has lot improved in latest models which is not reported. Its not fair potentially users are put away on reliability issue which is not even applicable to latest models. For example qashqai has new turbo engines which are great. Secondly lag reported with info system is not correct. I use every day and its great. I agree it has few issues like bit smaller screen and position not driver friendly. I was also put down by these negative reviews for qashqai and almost bought karoq. But most reviewer do not tell that karoq petrol manual transmission model has kangoring issue. I came across it in Test driver where it stall during changing gear from first to second gear. I then searched online and came across this reported by several karoq owners. To make it worse vw has never released proper fix or did callback. Why reviewer miss such important bits. I almost had accident on karoq with that issue

Owner of a 2017 Qashqai, if your thinking of buying a qashqai ill tell you right now DONT, maybe im one of the unlucky ones but in 1,5 Years i had 40 visits to the dealer, faulty main car computer, faulty radar, faulty plastic components (popped off after 2 months, had to replace the rear plastic trim), way too sensitive parktronic as in a spec of dust makes it think your about to collide, and make the hole system go nuts, and so mutch fun while driving to be startled by a loud signal from the parktronic, the suspension feels hard, i had cars 10+ years older that were way more softer, also if you hear any sounds coming from your suspension forget about the warranty because sounds coming from the suspension are not covered by warranty according to the dealer, the electrical system is so good that you get nice disco show every morning when you start the car all the lights start to flicker and according to Nissan it should be like this, and even after 40+ visits i couldn't return the car even if i wanted to because we here in Europe dont have the lemon law like the american's :( well this concludes my rant, save your self the trouble and buy anything else but the Nissan qashqai, Hope this heals atleast someone evade the trouble im having with my QashQai :)

Had a 2018 Qashqai rental car for a day recently - the 1.2 petrol one. Pretty impersonal and boring, with a steering wheel that felt like something from Logitech. A-pillar and those big mirrors felt obstructive, and with that engine it's really just for driving in a city. Usable car, but boring and with no real personality.

Yep..... those awful wing mirrors really annoyed me when I hired one once.....

Wow.. that engine looks horrendous.. they should have at least put a cover on it!! So bad headroom, worse info system, cheap plastics, avg boot, worst reliability ... did I miss anything else .. and it still is the top selling suv in UK!!!

Nissan sucks. In my opinion Peugeot 3008 is much better.
