Probably the Donnie line I relate to the most. I sound sarcastic and stuff a lot. People don't always notice when I'm making a joke because I may sound neutral. I try to use body language if they can see me and if they can't, force my voice to be goofy

anytime Donnie rambles about his technology, I always hope that he gets a chance to talk about it because I love listening to him talk about something he's passionate about. he feeds my autistic needs (except for the emotional bit. when it comes to emotion I could not be more opposite of Donnie even if I tried. HOWEVER this was always something that I found really funny and endearing about Donnie)

FOR REAL!! As someone who's autistic, I say that Donnie really represents me and where I came from. Outside my mom and sisters, I grew up in a very ableist family. Donnie actually makes me feel like I'm not alone, and since I've been hyperfixated in Rise, I've learned much from Donnie, especially in embracing parts of myself I'd most often have learned to mask for the sake of "fitting in". Donnie's freedom to be himself with his brothers and dad is the freedom I barely ever got when I was growing up. Truth, even though it sounds weird, Donnie in Rise really changed my life

But then he would’ve had to get rid of it either way, making his initial insistence that he use April’s jacket instead also make no sense. Like I know he’s attached to it but you’re telling me that the Donatello in the room isn’t thinking logic first? As someone on the spectrum I appreciate Donnie representing us WAY more than June on TGaMM.
Nah but fr, TGaMM really dropped the ball with June and I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bothered by that. It felt like they wanted the brownie points for representation, but didn't want to put in the work to write an autistic character. I felt the same way about their period episode- once again felt like they wanted brownie points for making a period the conflict of an episode, but in reality they could've swapped out "period" with "puberty" and we would've gotten a very generic episode about not rushing to grow up. And I'm speaking as someone who is a fan of Molly McGee, sometimes their representation and talking points can feel really forced.
I greatly prefer ND characters like Donnie and Luz (Owl House) where they're not defined by the fact that they're neurodivergent, and the show doesn't need to spell it out for us. Not that I'd mind it being explicitly mentioned in-universe, but I just hate when a character is introduced as a minority and is only ever defined by surface level stereotypes.

I've honestly never seen such representation before stumbling across Rise, specifically Donnie. When I learned the writers confirmed Donnie to be autistic in canon, it honestly sealed the deal for me. I'm autistic myself, and I really didn't have much representation, much less positive representation, when I was growing up. Unlike others I've seen in cartoons (especially Entrapta from She-Ra), Donnie really represents and validates my entire existence as an autistic person. The crew working on this show did a phenomenal job. The hyperfixations, the quirks, Donnie's behaviors, his reactions to certain sensory situations (like the Kraang ship in the Rise movie), how he sometimes panics or lets himself get sucked in his phone, especially how he stims. Donnie's representation is not just positive, but also fairly realistic in my eyes. Donnie in Rise legitimately makes me feel like I'm not alone in the world, and I mostly felt very alien and alone growing up. That's what happens when you grow up in a bigoted, stuckup, and ableist family.
Alright. This video convinced me to start watching the show. (Despite hating Splinter in this show)

Finally, someone I can relate to.
It’s pretty interesting but I also feel like the other turtles has a different form of autism as well. Ex. Mikey could’ve easily have ADHD because he’s hyper and lacks focus but he’s still pretty smart. Raphael has issues talking about bit feelings but he’s still a caring dude. Leonardo is majorly gifted as a leader and as a person but he’s also too trusting at times. 🤷♀️
