- How to record video and audio from your flights?
This is how I do it :)
GoPros, voice recording devices, headsets, cables… it can all look a bit intimidating but it’s all necessary unordered to get those fun flights recorded.

Never thought to plug into instructor/passenger side if flying solo!
I plug anywhere, sometimes in the back seats too, but when flying with other people I have to use the splitter cable

Thank you for the helpful video. I got the same recorder and using with a splitter but I am getting a loud squeaking noise whenever no one is speaking. Do you know how to get rid of that?
Play around with the settings in your radio
sq and volume
Also in post you can get rid of frequencies when editing
Shouldn’t be hard to clean the audio

Hi Pedro...great video! I have a Sierra as well. Have you tried using the FlightLink app and record cockpit audio via Bluetooth? I have had spotty results where it either records just my audio or picked up too much background noise. Welcome your thoughts.
When I tried it didn’t work, it just recorded my voice for some reason… plus I don’t want to rely on my phones battery and on the headsets battery
With the external voice recorder it will go forever haha
I had the same question and experience with Zulu 3 headset - I guess we have to connect the iPad/iPhone using FlightLink with the 3.5mm cable ... Weird but no Bluetooth here - Too bad

how bad was the footage with go-pro 4? I am also getting my flight lessons with C172 and planning to buy go-pro 3. It would be just to record FI, instrument panel and cockpit audio.
Honestly the footage looks great on the GoPro 4
4k is all you need...
your only problem might be the lack os stabilization from the camera, because the plane vibrates a lot
