They don't, its just that it is so much easier and quicker to drink fruits. If you eat them normally you are less likely to eat as many.

It's not sugar that riots your teeth either. It's not flossing the food bits out from between your teeth. The food that's between your teeth gives you cavities. So make sure you floss every night before bed as well.
