- This video is Richard Arsenault's original creation. The visual is heavily manipulated using multi-layered Animatte techniques on Avid so that it has a seamless and invisible loop. The audio is crafted from scratch and the result is 100% original. Enjoy!

The original 10 second clip that was used to create this was licensed from VideoBlocks. As the editor and creator, my challenge was to create a believable loop so the video could be extended to an hour. Problem was, the pine trees did not return to their first position at the end of the clip and each tree settled back at a different point -- that made simply adding dissolves impossible.
To solve this creative and technical problem, I used Avid Media Composer and created multiple "Animatte" regions hand drawn around the various moving trees. The subtle dissolves and soft edges move around the screen without people noticing and the final result is practically perfect (but a trained eye can see the video editing).
This sound effects are designed for relaxation and invigoration -- but the Stock Footage clip is silent. So, I layered numerous sounds together and subtly brought the sound to life.

What I love about this video is the natural white noise during a snowstorm. This is why this video is my go-to for snow videos. No crappy music or crappy watermarks/logos to take away. This is how a snow video is done right. You just can't find a good relaxing snow video these days other than this one, folks. I wish this person would make a new one just like this but in 4k. I sit and drink hot chocolate to this video.
Snow makes everything look good that it falls on, every moment romantic. This planet is so beautiful.

There was a Pine forest behind my house growing up. I would run to it during the first snow to hear that gentle whistling wind sound filtered by the pine branches and needles, but mostly to hear the tinkling sounds of snowflakes bouncing off the frozen needles. The sound was musical and this video captures it in places.

I want to thank you wholeheartedly for uploading this video. I live in Iran and it never snows here but I look at this video and pretend I'm looking out of my own window. It's so soothing. I think snow is a great blessing for people who can see it every year. It's a pity we don't get to see and enjoy it.

I love the variety of wind sounds, it's not just a short loop repeated forever.
Thank you. Yes it is layered and I specifically wanted to avoid "loops" because it's annoying when sound-machines or relaxation tapes loop. A sound engineer explained that the human ear is 50,000 times more sensitive than eyes, so you really can't loop sounds without people noticing. thanks for your comment😀

My childhood rural town snows almost every year. Now that I’m older and have since moved out to the big city in the hot desert, I can’t see this without visiting my parents’ house. I miss this, oh good golly do I miss this. Even though this year is a hot one, and it’s unlikely to snow on Christmas, I would love to see this sight again sometime soon.

When i was 12 i had to move to texas with my family. Its been 38 yrs. I miss the snow and the pines. I got used to texas. But something lately feels like its missing. If i had the opportunity i would move back to Minnesota. I hate dfw now. Im sick of the city. I feel my step father drug me from my safe place in mn and destroyed my future. I was in 6th grade. I was supposed to go to high school there that next yr. Life would have been different for me i know. I love nature because of being a minnesotan. I love the summer yes. But i love the lake. Im missing who i really am.

Oooh this was on my birthday! I really love snow, it's the best time of year for me, just watching it fall makes me so happy, but for 2 years we haven't had any snow at all and when it did snow it was only a blanket and didn't last long, but this video is good enough :)

I can imagine there's a frozen pond just beyond those trees where I just came in from ice fishing ... and I can see a moose plodding his way across. I sit back with a hot chocolate and turn on a football game, keeping the volume low so I can listen to the wind.
Fuck, this makes me sleepy because I'd curl on up under blankets, fire in the stove, and a cup of tea whenever a blizzard hits.
I'm probably gonna wind up watching the whole thing because I'm playing with Lps and it's the window😂don't judge lol

This is a beautiful video but the forester in me has a comment.
The tress on the left and right and some of those in the background are probably firs because the branches grow up from the main stem.
A few of those in the background that are pointed are probalby spruces because spruce limbs leave the main stem pointing down and then arch up. That growth pattern gives the spruces a more compact look.
Some of the trees may be hemlocks but at this distance and resolution, it is diffucult to tell.
