  • Just wanted to show what the new 2020 Royal Enfield Classic 500s are looking like. Mine is still in the run in period and so I am trying to gently place as many miles as I can on it so that it will be ready for the riding season next spring.

    These are wonderful machines, guaranteed to put bugs in your teeth. Mine has about 3500 miles on the clock (Euro 4) and it is just now smoothing out, so do not get discouraged with the running-in. They do run very lean (there is some missing in mid-range in cold weather) but I am waiting to swap out the exhaust and filters before I address this. Otherwise, it has proven to be a 100% keeper. Happy trails!

    Nice bike, have fun with it in 2020. FYI there is no difference with 2019, 2018 and even some late 2017 models since they put rear disk brake and ABS (Euro 4).

    So sad that the 500 cc machines are Made in India and exported but not available for sale in India itself.
    They offer 350 cc variant

    Them readings are in metric system I think. So it should be kilometres and not miles and speedometer would show KMPH.

    Why didn't you consider 650 twins?

    • @goodash1
      @goodash1  Před 4 lety +9

      The same reason everyone else buys these slow heavy outdated under engineered hunks of vibrating metal, because it looks damn good. 👍

    • @goodash1
      @goodash1  Před 4 lety +2

      I heard that they were being discontinued, I guess that all good things must come to an end. Personally I am waiting for the Himalayan to get the 650. I have already warned the wife.

      @@goodash1 ,500 is only getting discontinued in India, but will be available in other countries. BTW congratulations for you new purchase, Royal Enfield is a timeless beauty... I believe yours is a bs6(euro5?) compliant engine. Recently they launched bs6 Himalayan in India. It's good too. But as you said you could wait for 650 Himalayan.

    • @andychauhan6544
      @andychauhan6544 Před 4 lety +1

      @@vishwasps8877 No, I think the whole bullet range 350/500 is being discontinued worldwide, only the 350 will be available just in India.

    It might not be 2020 they stopped manufacturing 500 in india in 2019

    • @goodash1
      @goodash1  Před 4 lety

      I believe that is only for the local market. You can still get them outside of India. Plus the plate said it was manufactured in 2020...although I picked it up in December of 2019. Do you think they might be disingenuous? 🤔

    • @Superbikesam96
      @Superbikesam96 Před 4 lety

      @@goodash1 overall they stopped production of gt535 back in 2017 and there on started to stop the classics C500 variations like chrome Idk if you know about a desert storm 500
      There was a pegasus limited edition for C500 which could be booked on official website
      But RE launched a similar edition for the 350 which kinda made the limited edition pegasus not limited
      And overall sales dropped for C500
      When The twins Int650 and Gt650 came
      They launched new Bs6 emission complaint engines for 350, 411(Himalayan) &650twin where launched for 2020 but no C500 or Standard 500 where introduced
      My friend bought a Standard 500 back in feb 2019 and shortly 500 was discontinued. Maybe the might have sent the manufactured overseas.
