    #### *Step-by-Step Guide:*
    1. *Safety First:*
    - *Turn Off the Engine:* Ensure the lawn tractor is turned off and remove the key from the ignition.
    - *Disconnect the Battery:* To prevent any electrical accidents, disconnect the negative (-) battery cable first and then the positive (+) cable.
    2. *Locate the Starter Solenoid:*
    - On the Cub Cadet XT2, the starter solenoid is usually located near the battery or mounted on the engine's side. Refer to your owner's manual if you're having trouble locating it.
    3. *Remove the Old Solenoid:*
    - *Disconnect the Wires:* Using pliers or a wrench, carefully disconnect the wires attached to the solenoid. Note their positions or take a photo for reference during reinstallation.
    - *Remove Mounting Bolts:* Use the appropriate socket or wrench to remove the bolts securing the solenoid to the frame or engine.
    4. *Install the New Solenoid:*
    - *Position the New Solenoid:* Place the new solenoid in the same position as the old one. Align it with the mounting holes.
    - *Secure the Solenoid:* Insert and tighten the mounting bolts to secure the solenoid in place.
    - *Reconnect the Wires:* Attach the wires to the new solenoid in the same configuration as the old one. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
    5. *Reconnect the Battery:*
    - *Connect the Positive Cable:* Attach the positive (+) battery cable to the battery terminal.
    - *Connect the Negative Cable:* Attach the negative (-) battery cable to the battery terminal.
    6. *Test the Installation:*
    - *Turn on the Ignition:* Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to start the engine.
    - *Check for Proper Operation:* Ensure the engine starts smoothly. If the engine doesn't start or the solenoid clicks without engaging the starter, double-check the wire connections and mounting.
    7. *Final Checks:*
    - *Secure All Components:* Ensure all bolts, wires, and connections are tight and secure.
    - *Clean Up:* Remove any tools and debris from the work area.
    #### *Tips and Precautions:*
    - *Safety Gear:* Always wear safety gloves and glasses when working with mechanical and electrical components.
    - *Disconnect the Battery:* Always disconnect the battery before starting any electrical work to avoid shocks or short circuits.
    - *Refer to the Manual:* Consult the Cub Cadet XT2 owner’s manual for specific details related to your model.
    - *Check the Wiring:* Make sure the wiring is not frayed or damaged before reconnecting. Replace any damaged wires if necessary.

This location makes it impossible to test it with a meter and battery connected. Dumb location!
