    Glad you featured Sibi built! Ordered a new Tacoma TRD , just waiting right now. Plan to do a re gear, tune and suspension mods to accommodate a Four Wheel Camper. Those guys are the real deal and do top notch work. Thanks for the discount you and Sibi have going, really helping everybody save on the costs of these builds👍🏼.

    Nice to see a young mechanic and business owner like this. He is razor sharp - lightning-fast super-detailed answers and the reasoning behind them. Exactly what I look for in a good mechanic.

    This is a great find for me. I am in SoCal and the gearing in my stock 2020 4Runner is driving me crazy. I have no plans for larger tires, but I will be visiting these guys, one of these days to see what gearing they recommend. Thanks!

    I have 35 inch tires on my 93 4 Runner and have 5.29 gears and I feel they are almost perfect. I can use 5th gear and still do 80 mph. It cruises at 3000 rpm at 70 mph. It has tons of power and I find myself letting off the gas to not peel out sometimes. I might like to try a bigger gear even. I put a 4.30 in it just to try and it's a total dog, can't even think about it using 5th gear. I'm still in 3rd at 50 with the 4.30. we need good strong AMERICAN made gears again. I have Yukon.

    So am I screwed if I put larger tires on my 4runner without doing a regear? Is there a software aspect that needs to be reprogrammed? I’m such a noob😅

    So if I plan to run 35's on a 2nd gen Tacoma what gears would I go with? 4.88's?

    • @socalexpeditions
      @socalexpeditions  Před rokem +1

      I had 4.88s with my auto 2nd gen Tacoma and loved it. That’d be my recommendation.

    • @socalexpeditions
      @socalexpeditions  Před 2 lety +1

      @@ImSick0 It does since the manual and auto trans are completely different. You'll rev higher with the manual than the automatic. Double OD auto. 4.88's are a great match for manual. Maybe with 37s I'd say go 5.29s.

    Old video. When it comes to regearing, should armor be accounted for when choosing gears.
