Well done Corn Man for being such an excellent guide. Wow, that section with the jumps was sketchy to attempt without walking it to check it out! My son, Steven and I rode the section after the lookout back in 2017. I found the rock garden parts were at the very limit of my ability at that time. You rode it a lot faster than I could. Our hands and shoulders and pecs knew they'd been through a workout. Well done for riding these trails so well, having not seen them before.

For viewers at home, those bottom jumps are HUGE !! The gopro pov footage does not do it justice. They are all large gaps with no room for error. The trick to riding at south hobart is to wait in the car park for a local to turn up and then just follow them. The illegal trails behind the brewery are a huge spiders web of trails. The illegal stuff is all steep, tight, narrow and fast. The legit stuff is more standard xc fare.
The trails behind the brewery are not officially sanctioned by anyone and were informally built, but they're not "illegal" - they're on private land, and the land-owner knows they are there and doesn't mind. The unofficial tracks that were on public land did all get shut down (in 2008-9), but at least many of them were reinstated as official tracks later, albeit sanitized - but most of those were green/blue tracks anyway.

Yeah, but you won't find it on trail forks. We're working on making it legit, but these things take time.
Don't think I've ever been ballsy enough to ride it in daylight in case I get caught! Bloody good as a night ride though!
