Oh, also, applying some beeswax on your thread before stitching can work wonders! Less tangling and less fraying. I always use it both on cxc and dmc (and any other brand I might use)

The part of your daughter handing over the present and your husband being speechless was a joy to watch! It shows how much he appreciated all your hard work! Also, thank you so much for sharing the info about the cxc seller! I just purchased 100 skeins I needed for a HAED I want to start and the price was about 1/4 of what I would pay for DMC here in Greece! I have a couple of HAEDs I want to start, but I will never manage to buy all that floss. I don't have a master set of DMC (that would cost half a salary to purchase), but I do have a master set of cxc. I just didn't know I could purchase a selection of colors! The seller was really helpful!

I've never used Pattern Keeper, but I enjoy MarkupXP. I bought it because I don't have a lot of PDF charts and wanted to be able to scan my paper charts into a PDF and load them into a program. It works for me, but that may also be because I haven't used Pattern Keeper. (smile) I've heard some decent reviews of CXC floss from other stitchers, too. I think if I ever get through my current DMC stash or if I actually start stitching the full coverage charts I've bought I may give it a try. Like you said, it is certainly budget friendly when you're kitting up large full coverage pieces. I've been struggling with colors for a temperature stitch for this year, too.. I need to just sit down and figure it out. Yours is looking like fun with your color choices. 🪡👠

Hearing about your covid hair loss, I had what I thought was adult RSV in May/ June but now I think it might have been covid. I just chopped all my hair off.... I like the idea of a temperature chart but it might be depressing to see our Houston heat.... Imma need colors to 110°

That would be a lot of high temps. You would need to tweak it for higher temps instead of the cold ones we get
