  • Lake Dolores Waterpark was a 273-acre man-made lake and water park in Newberry Springs, California. It opened to the public in 1962 and was known as a precursor to modern water parks. The park featured eight 150-foot long aluminum slides, two zip lines, a lazy river, bumper boats, and a go-kart track. It was a popular spot for motocross enthusiasts and people traveling between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The park closed in the late 1980s for "financial and legal reasons". It reopened in 1998 as Rock-A-Hoola Waterpark, but closed again in 2004 after an off-duty employee was paralyzed in an inadequately filled pool. The park's name was changed again to Discovery Water Park in 2002, but it still couldn't find success under a rebranding. The park has remained out-of-operation since.
The water has dried up, swimmers have disappeared, and most of what remains are empty cement pools and buildings decaying in the desert sun. G&GF Enterprise purchased the site in 2013 for $2 million, but zoning issues delayed its redevelopment plans for several years. In 2018, the old arcade and Lazy River Cafe were destroyed by arson.

I'd be worried I'd get back to the car and it would be a different color than the manufacturer's original. Painted tires too.
    Thanks Weekend!
    Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
