I have the Maxoom album by Mahogany Rush. I bought it second hand in 79 or 80. I havnt played it in years. Revenge is a great album and a Kiss Fave along with the Lick It Up album. The Designer of the Black Sabbath album is Steve 'Krusher' Joule. He was a member of Kerrang Magazine and also a Presenter of the Rock Video show in 89. He presented the design to Sabbath because of his loyalty to Ozzy. He also designed the Speak Of The Devil cover too.
It is always a welcome surprise to have Sheri on your videos. This was a nice way to end off the year. I have that Killer Dwarfs LP as well, and I agree they are very underrated. Happy New Year to you and the family, Frank! See you again in 2024!

Mahogany Rush album brings back memories, I was blessed to see this band in the late 1970's at Diamond Head Sunshine Festival here in Honolulu Hawaii my personal favorite album was Mahogany Rush - Child Of The Novelty ! Thanks also for sharing that Kiss record album. I didn't know they did a cover of God gave Rock and Roll, which I used to listen to by Argent from their record album In Deep. The Killer Dwarfs supported Iron Maiden on their 1988 Seventh Son UK tour, my very first ‘big’ live show. I believe Bruce Dickinson was a fan, and was instrumental in getting em on the tour. 12 year old me loved them! After that, we Brits didn’t hear much about them again, sadly, so thank you for that blast from the past! I will be revisiting them again soon. And record ‘cut outs’! What a horrible idea. Ruin a beautiful new record sleeve for what? I never understood that practice at all. Why wasn’t a simple discount sticker enough? Thankfully, ‘cut outs’ were never a thing here, but over the years I’ve acquired a few North American imports defaced with ‘em, and it never gets any easier. Bloody record industry barbarians! Happy New Year and all the best from over the pond! 🎉🥳
Fun video and a great challenge . What a coincidence that two albums with great songs but terrible audio production were picked , Fly On The Wall and Born Again . The songs sound better live than on the studio recordings . Happy New Year 🍻🎉
Was thinking of trying the 366 Album Challenge, again. Did it a couple years ago. And ended up also doing 52 extras, as an "Album Of The Week" thing. But the challenge should be to not duplicate any of those ones at all. Which isnt easy unless you got that all written down. Which I do. Tried to do it with movies this year, but only got to 415 movies. Which i think is kinda sad. I thought i was a big movie fan and expected it to be over 600. That Killer Dwarfs album would probably be $29.99 at any Vulture Village in town.
After Flick of the Switch, Fly on the Wall is actually my favorite AC/DC album. I know a lot of fans don't like the production, but it's a solid album for me. Revenge is also great.

Hi Sherri, You gave Frank a chance to re-explore some music. I have the albums Revenge and Born Again as well. Revenge is a desert island disc for me. It's Kiss exploring their darker side after being kind of a pop metal FM friendly band. Born Again is Black Sabbath with Ian Gillian singing in a murky swamp of a mix. Some say it was because of the tapes used in the studio. Others say the recording engineer was busy with a bottle. After the tour, Gillian rejoined Deep Purple and singer Tony Martin was brought into Sabbath. Anyway Born Again does have some worthy songs. Fly On The Wall I also have a copy of. It's AC⚡️DC, put the record on, shut off your mind, and just rock out. As you would with any other of their albums. And, Sherri, we always love having you on screen with Frank. Yours Vince

When I was a teenager , I preferred watching the Power Hour on Much Music as opposed to whatever the equivalent was on MTV and that's where I discovered Killer Dwarves. Fun band , enjoyed them back then but haven't listened to them in years for whatever reason. Absolutely love the Guess Who. You just reminded me that Sea of Tranquility recently did a Guess Who ranking and I need to check that out.
Changing the subject slightly 12" singles in the UK were my go to in the late 80's, I used to buy cassette albums for their practically (personal stereo, later in car). Then cd's. But the quality of vinyl and pressings of 7"'s wasn't great . 12" was about twice the price of a 7" or about half a cassette. The 12"'s were better quality for either 4 tracks or extended or live versions of songs. The added bonus they were great for making making tapes, less record changes. Also a great way to sample more music from a new band.
Another great video your wife knows her stuff I give it a 95% picking out those records but listen it brought back so many memories and I have a lot of those records and I'm going to go back and listen to them I like the AC DC fly on the wall but you guys got to do this much more thank you again Happy New Year and keep on spinning 😛🤘🎉

I bought the first Hollywood Vampires album of mostly covers, but nothing on Rise sounded worth buying to me. Interesting to hear you say that you didn't like it as well. That's a supergroup with a lot of potential but not living up to it, in my humble opinion.
I saw the killer dwarfs play some bar long ago in my 20’s in toronto…the place was empty. But i loved it… the singer had on skin tight pants that said fuck fuck fuck all over them….

Power In The Music is a terrific LP. I was broken hearted when Cummings broke up the band right after it was put out. Troiano (the best guitarist they ever had) and Garry Peterson were pushing the band into more progressive areas. Rich World-Poor World is a fantastic song. Down and Out Woman is great Guess Who pop. Cummings thought the music was too challenging. He complained that he needed to read sheet music just to be able to play some of the songs.
I have been llogging my new records on Discogs istening to my albums and putting "post it" notes on the front sleeve with with a rating and condition in case I want to start purging or upgrade.
A 10 album challenge is a great idea. I randomly pulled 10 and I'm 1/2 way through listening to them. But I must confess to cheating a little. One of the selected was one of my wife's, that I do not like, so I put it back. Another one reminds me of someone I recently lost and I just can not play it. At least not yet. Are there albums in your collection that have you have a deep emotional connection to? I'm guessing the answer is yes and if it is perhaps this could be a topic for a future video. Keep on spinning.
Happy New Year! Would love to know more about the reissue of Born Again. But it's gonna take ALOT of remixing to get the sound right on it.. Minor EQ adjustments ain't gonna do it, but the songs are great. It's just that it sounds like its coming through on a handheld AM radio.
That Guess Who album was their final one. Being a GW fan, it's not that good and Burton Cummings has admitted as much. "Shakin" and "Dreams" were the best two cuts. Interestingly enough, he had written his first solo hit "Stand Tall" was written for the album but was turned down by the rest of the band.
Too funny, ive got Dive Dive Dive and Born in 58 on uk12inch, but not All the Young Dudes. 12inchers were easier to find than full albums in 1990. I still need Tatooed Millionaire
I'm pretty much a Guess Who fan, but I've never heard of that *Power in the Music* LP. I have an SACD player and I bought a few of the quad Guess Who CDs from Vocalion Records. Those are great fun!
The Born again album cover isnt nearly as awful as the production on that album. The guitars sound like they were recorded in a fish tank in the back of a large cave.
I own every Black Sabbath album and love or like most of them. I also love Ozzy, Dio, Martin equally, But I hate the "Born Again" album. I like Ian Gillan as a singer just not with Sabbath.
I've been collecting for decades. I just got done listening to an album that I have not heard since high school. Graduated in 1982. Having approximately 1500 albums, it's almost impossible to listen to them all.
I hate to say it but Black Sabbath born again was one of the most disappointing albums for me. I love Deep Purple and Black Sabbath but it didn’t stand up to either for me.

For me, the ugliest album cover has to be Bowie's Toy. I flip that thing around anytime I see it in stores

I have been llogging my new records on Discogs istening to my albums and putting "post it" notes on the front sleeve with with a rating and condition in case I want to start purging or upgrade.
The "full stick" post-its work great for this!

A 10 album challenge is a great idea. I randomly pulled 10 and I'm 1/2 way through listening to them. But I must confess to cheating a little. One of the selected was one of my wife's, that I do not like, so I put it back. Another one reminds me of someone I recently lost and I just can not play it. At least not yet. Are there albums in your collection that have you have a deep emotional connection to? I'm guessing the answer is yes and if it is perhaps this could be a topic for a future video. Keep on spinning.
Happy New Year! Would love to know more about the reissue of Born Again. But it's gonna take ALOT of remixing to get the sound right on it.. Minor EQ adjustments ain't gonna do it, but the songs are great. It's just that it sounds like its coming through on a handheld AM radio.
That Guess Who album was their final one. Being a GW fan, it's not that good and Burton Cummings has admitted as much. "Shakin" and "Dreams" were the best two cuts. Interestingly enough, he had written his first solo hit "Stand Tall" was written for the album but was turned down by the rest of the band.
Too funny, ive got Dive Dive Dive and Born in 58 on uk12inch, but not All the Young Dudes. 12inchers were easier to find than full albums in 1990. I still need Tatooed Millionaire

I'm pretty much a Guess Who fan, but I've never heard of that *Power in the Music* LP. I have an SACD player and I bought a few of the quad Guess Who CDs from Vocalion Records. Those are great fun!

A gatefold sleeve for a 12" single. Don't see that...like ever.
The Born again album cover isnt nearly as awful as the production on that album. The guitars sound like they were recorded in a fish tank in the back of a large cave.
I own every Black Sabbath album and love or like most of them. I also love Ozzy, Dio, Martin equally, But I hate the "Born Again" album. I like Ian Gillan as a singer just not with Sabbath.

I've been collecting for decades. I just got done listening to an album that I have not heard since high school. Graduated in 1982. Having approximately 1500 albums, it's almost impossible to listen to them all.
I hate to say it but Black Sabbath born again was one of the most disappointing albums for me. I love Deep Purple and Black Sabbath but it didn’t stand up to either for me.
