Beautiful car. Cool truck.
Dave and Tom Rettig were part of what made living in the Central Valley from the 60's until 2000 great for racers. Your machine shop always did me right. RIP fellas.
brilliant..
Man I love this stuff. Takes me back to the 70s.
I'd get chills every time I started that car...
My dad was George Hanvey...he ran the Mr Wood SS/DA 64 Plymouth......bombed the SS/DA record to 10.24 in 1973....
Love the whole old school racing package ! That's the only way to show up at the strip ✌😎
Beautiful car and hauler man.... keep the dream alive ! My home strip New England Dragway - NH ( Spent many wed. nights and Sundays there in my little corner of racing heaven 😉 )
YES ILL TAKE ONE
Rettig Bros, Modesto Ca. That car was in American Graffiti 2
So cool car and hauler!!!😊 Wonder if the front end is the light weight aluminium.
Super cool combo!
Car & Hauler(Fremont Dragstrip) those were the DAYS!!!!
just..beautiful
Beautiful beast!!!
The car is set up to run Nostalgia super Stock in a 11.0 index class. It's capable of going faster! The stickers on it are real the car was campaigned all over the west coast back in the 60,s and 70,s! The hauler was the original used to tote the car around back then and was recently reunited with the car after 30 or 40 years!
I remember seeing these guys at races in So. Calif. when I lived there , they had beautiful cars that hauled ass
How long are those ramps? Do you wish they were longer?
Loved the “suicide knob” on the hauler steering wheel..
This car was in the movie More American Graffiti.
American Graffiti & More American Graffiti are based on life around Modesto in the early 60's.. Rettig Bros Engines was in Modesto since the early 60's... Seems a natural connection...
Lost all 3 races as far as time/speed. Won all 3 races as far as looks and class!! Beautiful car!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks! 🤟
Talk about class, and love that combo. Those old max wedges are some of my favorite Mopars, and also dig the 330s to
💪🏼😎
Very cool rides. My friend had a 62 gmc carhauler for his dirtcar then dragcar.. Looked good hauling a 67 Camaro to track.
That's awesome I would love to have a set like that the classic Mopar Car hauler with a Max Wedge on the back of it. That thing is so cool
I almost like the truck more than the car ✌
Badass
How long are the ramps?
Used to own yellow hot wheels ramp truck.peice of history!
Only owned mopars . . Mine has sat for decades and yep just when I'm going to start working on it this year, Along Comes A Coronavirus... Now I'm locked down and can't get nowhere. Guess I'll sit and look at it again for a while. One thing good about it, I'm not spending much money out running around LOL. Love these old beautiful Mopar Factory drag cars. The max wedge Vehicles were all really cool...
Sad that Rt66 never became a major facility for Chicago. Could only imagine how it could have been if someone with a vision owned it instead of a corporate entity. Someone like Broadway or the Baders...
🤔 Pretty sure they are a major facility after all NHRA Nationals are held there. You have to remember its corporate owned and the bottom line is profit.
@victoryredcolorado Exactly my point, Victory! Imagine if the owners cared. If the bottom line is profit, would they not promote their events to gather maximum ticket holders. The Nationals had a decent crowd the first year, some great Friday nights, horrible Saturdays (the up in smoke qualifying, only chased customers away) . Overall the racing was incredible, especially the 3 years with Autumn events. Bad scheduling (rain and heat) , no promotion, high prices( not sure now but were NHRA highest prices for years) account for all the empty seats.
Yes please both truck and car.
Not sure which is cooler the Car or the Hauler ? Great video !
Used to be a regular at L.A. county raceway.
Both mopars are sweet nice truck nice car . and its a real hemi max wedge
Something about that truck, I liked more than the car. I think because it looked like nothing was restored.
...it's not a Hemi. It's a max wedge. The Hemi replaced it in 1964 as a competition order option, and became a "street" option in '65....but you're damn sure right about them being sweet!
@@barndawg77 You are correct 👍
What cam you running ..sounds & runs great 👍
What cam ??
Love them both, great rides very biased to the belvedere. I have a 67 2 door hardtop.
Hard to imagine that the car hauler has a small block 318 motor. But it works.
Man what a beautiful set up, both are show cars. Where are you guys from
New Lenox Illinois
What engine and trans on the hauler? I see red knob, probably has a school bus 2 speed rear end.
I think that it has a 318 motor.
11.05? That's it? Better adjust them there torsion bars looser on one side. 🤣
This is all a beatiful thing I love this car best design chysler ever made in my opinion it’s gotta be a low 10 car love the whole package would take this car over any hellcat
Far out👀👀👀
Alright, to have one or the other would be a milestone in my life, but both? Come on!!😂
Any more gasser videos coming?.
Superfine!
( Sick 😷 )
Richard Petty made a winner of the 64 Belvedere.
It's a 63
Ths truck &car would make it good for.hot wheels transport trailers.you could get popular in hot wheels.hi from Ohio .
Agreed!👊🤟
Hmmm,,,,,,
Haulin' a$$
That car should have been 2 seconds faster.
Not sure bout that
And lost the all GM 🤔
Little different in class
Duh
All show, no go
I don't see your car running here oh wait you have no content.
