- Russia has carried out another airstrike on Ukraine's second largest city of Kharkiv.
At least 6 people were killed and 10 others injured in an earlier assault. Ukraine's military says its air defenses destroyed 28 out of 32 incoming drones and three out of six missiles. Russia is stepping up its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
DW's Jan-Philipp Scholz has been speaking to Ukraine's energy minister, Herman Halushchenko.

Guys, the site with the damaged building you have shown in this report is where Ukrainian MLRS was stationed to attack indiscriminately the city of Belgorod. It has nothing to do with energy infrastructure.

The full version of the video from Kharkiv at the beginning of the DW piece shows 2 destroyed Ukrainian MLRS that were "conveniently" edited out. Thats basically everyone needs to know about how much the corporate media is honest on this conflict.
You think we don't know that Russia is destroying things in Ukraine That's literally the issue...
You do realize DW isn't a corporation? It's a government owned media company. Now as massive as you think with many independent journalists.
@@waynethegreat23 Yeah but it's dishonest because if Russia attack military targets it's not against international law, neither is attacking energy infrastructure. It's dishonest because if they edit out the destroyed military equipment that paints a picture that Russia just attacked civilians purposely.
The problem is that because the USA has been doing this for the last 30 years no one can hold Russian accountable. In every conflict the USA is in they bomb the opposition relentlessly and they destroy infrastructure and energy. It's actually written in their defense documents as legal.
So again we have another case of because we didn't hold our own Western military accountable for their killings and displacement of civilians then other countries can't be held accountable... it's pure hypocrisy.
@@waynethegreat23 At least you're honest in one - the things, not people, cause when you compare the ratio of killed civilian and military servicemen on Ukrainian side, this war conflict has no comparison!!! Russia is acting unimaginably cautious, trying to save as many simple Ukrainians as possible, and that's a big difference, when you look of what the so-called true democracies of the west have done in their bloody war conflicts around the world, it's just incomparable!!!
And one more thing. And how do you think Russia could fight this war in such a manner by not destroying the energy and oil infrastructure that powers the Ukrainian military machine? Maybe you just remember what the US and the Great Britain did in several German cities at the end of the World War Two, when there was no such military necessity, killing in doing so such quantity of German civilians and European architectural marvels that the world would unlikely ever see such atrocities in near future.

I guess you refer to the Crocus City Hall attack. That was a terror attack. You'll have to file further complaints to ISIS-K who did it, or to FSB who let it happen. You could try to talk to some of the many "little blue men" that didn't get shot at and didn't panic inside the concert hall. Their faces were clearly visible in the footage. One later participated as special force in apprehending the escaping t3rrorists out in that forest, another one later guarded Steven Seagull when he visited the victims at the hospital. Russian hypersound has put NATO countries in a difficult position. Neither Europe nor the United States can oppose him today. The British tabloid The Sun estimated that the Zircon would fly to London in just five minutes. But the main target for the missile is, of course, the US aircraft carrier groups. Zircon turned them into an easy target.
During the Vietnam War, the United States engaged in carpet bombing of the Laos border for nine consecutive years, 24/7. It is worth considering whether the US military took into account the impact of this bombing on civilian populations and collateral damage. It is widely understood that war is a complex and unpredictable phenomenon, and that even the most carefully planned military operations can result in unintended consequences. In some cases, the use of force may be necessary, and in others, it may be counterproductive. In any event, the goal of any military operation should be to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict. In a related matter, the current market situation in Germany presents a number of challenges for its industries, including energy shortages and rising energy costs. The question of who stands to benefit from this situation is a complex one, with multiple factors at play. Nonetheless, it is clear that the United States has been able to capitalize on these challenges in a number of ways. For example, the US has been able to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the EU at a premium price, while also enjoying record sales of arms to European countries. Additionally, some European manufacturing companies have chosen to relocate their operations to the US in order to take advantage of favorable energy prices. Taken together, these issues underscore the importance of careful consideration and analysis when it comes to matters of war and international trade. By taking a measured and thoughtful approach, policymakers and business leaders can help to ensure that the outcomes of their decisions are positive and beneficial for all parties involved.

@@iROChakri As far as I am aware the only place NATO has done NATO things are within its own territory and purview, in regards to the Russian Federation. NATO should be able to ‘expand’ wherever it wants, as long as that expansion is welcomed where it is expanding. In Finland and Sweden for example. Russia has no say where NATO can and can’t go/be, as long as NATO is not expanding into Russian territory. The Russian Federation has no say in what NATO can and can’t do, as long as it’s not doing it to Russia!
So, tell me. Exactly what has NATO done to Russia? I do not expect to hear that NATO is not allowed to expand because some people in the Russian Federation said so, or begged so. Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once nato began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining nato was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021. Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. Nato illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) RIP.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
