So these elf boys walk into a tavern with half their dead dad's body, tell a woman that she wasted her life, making her want to burn her business to the ground, and then dip out.
True story: My mother took my brother and me to see this film. We were too old for it, but it was the one year anniversary of my dad dying and we just needed to get out of the house. We went to the theater and just picked this as a safe movie without knowing the plot
same, in my case it had been two years since my dad died and I cried way more than I dare to admit
Oh my god…the safe bet with THIS plot? It sounds like it would’ve been a very bittersweet experience
I dont know why all the characters in this movie look like Eden
Everyone in this universe looks so sad and unfulfilled. Except the older brother.
Well prob because the magic is lost in their world. The brother’s the only one that really still cares about it
Does that mean the message of this movie is "play DnD and your life will have meaning"?
@@abhainn35It's find your own meaning in life, whatever it is (baring being a desteoyer).
Being a D&D player in a fantasy world is the equivalent of being really good at Oregon Trail in real life
Ah Yes, one of the last movies to release before the world shut down in 2020
I didn't care to see it in theaters thanks to it being uploaded on Disney+. The last film before shutdown, that I saw, was 'Sonic the Hedgehog' (2020).
@@COSun25 Oh God, I think that’s the last movie I watched too before lockdown 😭
Idc what anyone says rhis movie had somethin. The ending was really unexpected and wholesome and earned. And HOW is chris pratt doing a better job than tom holland in this movie? People say jack black would have been better and while i agree, chris pratt did way better here than mario by a mile.
i agree 100%, i felt they set up everything really well for the ending
were the jokes and some stuff not relatable for most and maybe mid and bit corny? yes. but did i enjoy the entire movie? yes i did
i feel oversaturated with romance sometimes and i rlly loved how this focused on the siblings
@__Black_Sheep__ I personally like the incredibles the most as it has just as nuanced and adult themes maybe moreover but still is very creative, entertaining, and well performed. But I SO get the attraction with the world itself as its never really been done before in anything I can think of, and adding a mature story on top can hook you pretty well, and while I don't think I'll visit it again and don't feel the same way, I can see the appeal, and have felt it in even other pixar movies.
Gonna be real for a second here. This movie is what finally gave me the confidence to pass my driver's test. It was the line: "You'll never be ready! Merge!" that got me to take that last leap.
Fun fact: While in the middle of the pandemic and during online classes one of my teachers decided to play this movie but i want able to properly see it because everyone was having an among us roleplay in the chat. Just something funny i thought id share.
I can’t even think about this movie without crying. I know it’s not great but it reminds me so much of my own life without a father figure, where the only good male role model in my life was my brother
i remember seeing this movie with my dad and he just complained that they spent this whole movie for this kid to see his dad, and he didnt even get to see him, plus they couldve WAITED FOR THE LEGS TO DISAPPEAR AND JUST USE THE 2ND GEM
I avoided this movie like the PLAGUE because my dad had just passed away a few months prior in a very traumatizing way. Took me almost 2 years to finally watch it, and when I did it became my comfort movie. I know it has its faults, but it helps me feel a little bit more okay with everything that happened
Remember when Schaffrillas said that the brother voiced by Chris Pratt should’ve been voiced by Jack Black
I swear someone said that he looks like he should have been voiced by james corden, I thought that was schaffrillas but ig not lol 😭
Jack Black could do everything Chris Pratt was in but Chris Pratt couldn't do everything Jack Black was in.
1:05 damn Pixar, try not to make a hot mom in one of your movies 😂 Challenge Imposible
I remember there being a Simpsons short that played before this movie in theaters. Like, Pixar actually had the guts to show a short from the Simpsons instead of a short they made themselves. Disney really took advantage of buying FOX.
Aside from the Burrow short for Soul, I'm pretty sure that was the last Pixar short film for a movie.
Disney must be breathing down Pixar's neck or something
@@Lucien_MDidn't the Up short play before Elemental? Idk I didn't see it in theatres.
@@ParadoxFree that as well. But I'm mainly taking about original Pixar shorts
The early 2020s/late 2010 obsession with Tom Holland (post spdm) needs to be studied. Why was he EVERYWHERE
I mean he's Spider-Man who does whatever a spider can and spiders are everywhere sooooo
i actually really liked this movie when i first watched it :(
it made me kinda sad that people seemed to hate it
The fact they were rawdogging this film in the livestream and then uploading this video is craxy 😂😂
I loved this movie. I had lost my mom not long before watching it though so maybe it was that bias. But I think one of the most hated parts of the movie, an awesome fantasy world of might and magic reduced to a plain real-world urban existence, was a genius decision. It parallels the feeling you have after losing a loved one. The life before the death is fondly remembered, even magical, but the life you have to deal with afterwards is a hollow echo of what was. I felt it was a nice subtle way of making the audience feel that emptiness of knowing magic existed but right now is so hard to find amidst the real-world normalcy given at the start of the movie. But maybe that's just me.
Unironically I think you should watch the Dinosaurs sitcom from the 90s, it's just so weird and unhinged that it's absolutely hilarious.
Yeah that show was crazy. Didn't the dad straight up yeet the baby once?
It was such a good movie the first time I watched it but when I watched it again i realized how weird it was
You guys should watch Honey I shrunk the kids
No way you guys said alright to this movie, this movie is top 10 pixar movies
no its not. I honestly completely forgot this movie existed until I saw this video in my recommended.
The movie is not even close to Pixar's top 10, be happy that they said it's alright when in reality the movie is mid
@@alfonsomartinez6433isnt that what "alright " means though? If a movie is alright that means that it isnt good nor bad, which makes it mid
The gays have returned
A couple of emotional scenes I really like in this movie- the scene when Ian is realizing his brother Barley took care of him all along and I loved the subverted expectations of the ending of having Barley see his dad again instead of Ian.
15:45 “this is like in dark souls three” *shows elden ring*
Why is Tom Holland always animated like that? Like he was animated the same way in Spies in Disguise, which you should watch
9:13 Did Chris prat just tell Tom holand to arch his back and spread his feet…
I love how MERGING INTO TRAFFIC is a character moment.
Oh, wait, no, that's dumb.
The thumbnail💀💀💀
I'm surprised they didn't point out how this Chris Pratt character also ran out of a hospital while their parent was dying as part of his trauma.
Just like the Marvel Chris Pratt did.
I remember after this movie came out, me and my brother would always say in the car "MERGE INTO TRAFFIC" for no reason
12:23 I'm surprised that went uncensored
Yall should male compilation of every time one of you guys thirst trap for a character in movie or show so far
I actually like this film. It actually made me feel something. Disney films haven’t done that in years.
The pure disrespect you put on Inside Out 2 is absolutely disgusting
I love the video coming out so soon after the stream so people can call out the milkers for the tierlist right away XD
Yes, The Two Peter's are finally coming together to work off each other since the fight against thanos.
I watched this on a plane thinking it was gonna be just your normal fun Disney movie….i felt so bad for the person next to me having to listen and see me quietly sob to my self for 2 hours😂😭😭
If I had a nickel for every time Chris Pratt starred in a wholesome animated movie that celebrated brotherhood, I would have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's nice that it happened twice.
I think they're all caught up on pixar. Right? I mean theres inside out 2 but thats not out on streaming yet.
Day 1 of asking Spilling the Milk to watch "Team America: World Police"
"Just wait about 2 hours"
Tom Holland plays Spider-Man, Ian, Walter Beckett, and Backshots
Chris Pratt plays Mario, Garfield, Star-Lord, Emment, Rex, Andy Dwyer, and Owen Grady
All I see is Chris Pratt and Tom Holland
All I see is Emmet and Peter Parker trying to bring their dead dad back to life lol going on an epic road trip with just half of their revived father´ s legs.
Kor on the Trash Taste Podcast would actually be such a vibe
Real ones will know they changed the thumbnail..
The thumbnail in the notification I got is crazy 💀
i found the full version of the art from the thumbnail and i really wish i hadn't looked for it😭 y'all are insane for putting it in the thumbnail
6:09 I thought they locked up chat in the Finding Dory video.
I lowkey got jumpscared by the Dimension 20 reference 😭
I think this movie needs a bit more appreciation, but I can imagine that its structure can be a turn-off with how much time they needed to establish the non-magical scenes to contrast with the magical stuff later on and how it plays into their characters. Personally, I'm not sure what I'd cut or redo that wouldn't remove context that makes the general story make sense.
thank you for dropping the high-pitched patron shout outs
genuinely gives the impression like they're an after-thoughts
17:53 PLEASE!!! IT'S NOT TOO LATE WATCH YOUNG SHELDON!!!
Tbh onwards like a actual good movie, its so fun to watch
A version of Superbad involving magical creatures. Huh, it honestly intrigues me.
Perfect video to listen to while sleeping
I think you definitely put it best: the emotional moments and overall theme is a very engaging one, but everything in between at best is okay or just mid
That theme nail has opened my eyes
Oh, so THIS is why I recognized the manticore character in Dungeon Flippers pilot (viewable right here on CZcams)!
i think bradly said he never said goodbye to his dad so that’s why ian didn’t go. ian realized while crossing off the list that bradly helped him grow up.
the beginning caught me off guard i snorted😭
I’m still mad that I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie and missed the Gelatinous cube. Why this is a memory I still have I do not know
Dang,29 seconds after the drop is kinda🧌🧌🧌🧌
4:07 the first good Pixar movie spelling the milk has watched in so long that at this point they're complaining that it's not bad
When Eden was talking about merging I saw Fanum
Tom Holland will play with F**KING DEKU!!!!!!!
Dwayne Johnson will play with GOD-LIKE ALL MIGHT!!!!!!
I hate that I know what that image of the mom is from 😭
The mom and manticore are the best part
Can you not with that thumbnail lmfao
How dare you slander risk, Kor. We will not stand on the risk diss🥲
The movie needs more leprechauns scatting then eventually getting the wildest flute solo. The trailer had Hocus Pocus playing
It's funny you used the Dimension20 clip because this movie gave me strong vibes of their Fantasy High campaign, which also happens to be a fantasy thing taking place in a modern setting
Can't wait for the re-upload
My absolute favourite Pixar movie. So touching and as someone with a older brother who it took a long time to get along with, this movie hurts the soul but also shows that brothers will always be there for you
The thumbnail was wild
Tom Holland and Chris Pratt in a Movie was funny😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂Day 369 asking for Good Burger and Dreamworks Wallace and Gromit curse of the Wererabbit 🐰
I like how the blue people blush pink every waking moment, its the transformers underplot😱
no way they said that this fucking movie is alright but with treasure planet they said there was nothing good about it
Holy hell it should be illegal to see these boys this early
I don't care what anyone says, this was a great heartfelt movie
You guys should watch Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and decide which adaptation is the best!
the irony of ian looking like eden
The thumbnail change is wild
New thumbnail is crazy
Onward = *bad movie*
Spilling the milk reacting to Onward= *bad movie, good jokes*
We want you to oil up guys
I remember watching this film and actually liking it, I wonder if i'll still like it
I'm going goblin mode when I see that mom fr.
I remember aggressively hating the cop dad partly for the fact the mom wasn't single
I never thought Chris Pratt and Tom Holland would be in a Pixar movie.
He sounds like a smiling friends character 😂
00:00
Golum at the beginning of the video set the tone well.
NEW MERCH: spillingthemerch.com/
this movie was so ass i couldnt finish your reaction video
Can you guys finish Sonic frontiers
