- In this video i will show you how to make independent four jaw lathe chuck using simple machine. All of this materials came from the scrap. This project long overdue because mostly tools used for cutting thick metal is hacksaw and bench drill, I have also an angle grinder but the cutting disc is limited.
I hope you enjoy watching my video, don't forget to subscribe. Thank you.

Packing bearings with grease, getting engines going, pulling a new differential out of a box, heat expanding ring gears, power washing an engine block, setting cylinder sleeves. Does this guy know his stuff or what?!!!
He deserved that fruit at the end.
Good work, boss. God bless.
I wouldn't usually be particularly impressed by someone making a 4 jaw chuck. They're not really that complex, and not horrendously hard to machine.......... But seeing you make one that works smoothly WITHOUT using a milling machine has really blown my mind. I wouldn't have thought it was possible. It must have taken some pretty serious thought just to come up with the build order you'd need to make the parts in.
Brilliant work mate. A real eye opener of a project.
Thank you brother.
I have a lathe I paid good money for and have not been very happy with it , But you have showed me how to appreciate my equipment much more ! Very impressed with the skills you have .
Thank you brother.
A very patient and painstaking worker, I really applaud his perseverance.
Nice. I respect people who know how to make tools with their own hands.
Thankyou

Wonderfull metal lathe chuck without machines. thanks for sharing your videos
Thankyou, but you can view that tomorrow.
Others have said it, and probably said a lot more if the truth be known--but at the very start: where you mark, drill, and then cut the four corners from the steel plate. This is all a bit rough and ready, I thought. But watch on, I decided, and am I glad I did, mate: too bloody right I am... because your video is one of a handful of top shelf DIY's I've had the pleasure to watch. You can rest assure that I'll be keeping my eye open for your up and comings... thanks old mate, you do do good work.
Thank you brother.
Excellent handiwork from hachsaw. Superb outcome.
Thank you sir
I had a 4 jaw lathe chuck in the wishlist for my DIY lathe but now I'll gone to build one. Your video shows that it can be done. Thank you for that.
Thank you
Eres un maestro del ajuste de banco bro
Malaking machine shop to kabayan, napakaganda ng negosyo mo....... Bago mong kaibigan ngayun
Esto si es un buen chuck genial..!!.
Amigo.

The dedication to cut through that much material with a hacksaw
Thank you
Wow that's awesome. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your support. I learned something new every day. Thanks again
I love the ‘just watch’ video style. So many youtubers talk too much! Inspirational stuff….
Thank you brother
I've been watching engineers for years working with their stupid academic methods but you are a school apart, I adore a lot when you find less tiring and more efficient manufacturing shortcuts I wish you good luck man;)
Thank you sir.
Hello🤝🖐️
I agree with you...engineers and academic methods...the epitome of excellence in engineering is simplification.....
Necessity is the mother of invention, and ingenuity.
Well done on both accounts. 😊
.
Thanks you brother.
Smart guy,, n got skill
napaka husay talaga idol. walang katulad.
Salamat bro. I promote natin ang DIY sa pinas.
great. I've always been afraid of thick pieces of steel. I had an accident with a mower once. But it can't win over my passion.
Go on bro i incounter also some accident but it's not hindrance to fullfil our goal to success.

Incredible!! And Beautiful work my friend!!!!! Im amazed that you can make that without a Milling machine and without tons of other fancy tools. Actually I'd still be amazed even if you used a milling machine and other fancy tools! Lol im just so blown away! and Extremely extremely impressed! with your abilities to build things from nothing! You're truly an amazing Metal worker/Machinist. Your Craftsmanship Really inspires me and you're so incredible and skilled at what you do. Thank you so much for sharing and all your Hard work. Take care my Brother and God bless you and your family. -David
Thanks for appreciating my work. I hope this video helps people who want to build a lathe machine using simple machine.
I can't even imagine how much action that hacksaw has seen I'd never try something like this without my trusty angle grinder
Sometimes i can't imagine that i can finish using only hacksaw by cutting thick metal but i have no available cutting tools, that's why hacksaw is the best way to finish this project.thanks for watching brother.
@@CHELLDONZCraftsandDIYs but you have grinder why don't you use it to cut the thick plates?
@@CHELLDONZCraftsandDIYs have you considered making a powered hacksaw? Offset on a round plate so it reciprocates, like a sawZ all? Save you half the work at least, probably more, since your mostly just guiding it, and putting pressure on the cut stroke. A band saw it is not, but sometimes a band saw is out of reach. Electric motors, and hacksaws seem to be in abundance though. I probably have 35 electric motors in my view now, and I can spot 3 hacksaws under all the junk in this messy shop.
Very impressive! I intend to try to make this for my lathe. Thank you for sharing. From Canada.
Your welcome brother
Классная работа) 👍😲
Everything made with your HANDS ! It's amazing and Stressed ! Greetings from Babylon Mesopotamia

I'm about 0:58 in and Holy crap, my arms hurt just watching. I'm going to go hug my bandsaw now.
Wow, very clever. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome brother
Un gran ingenio pasiencia y habilidades mis respetos
Thank you
Very unique awesome technique
You've done an amazing amount of work there, and good quality. My only advice would be to try and keep your fingers outside the hacksaw frame when you're cutting..... don't wrap your fingers so that they're inside the frame.
Having said that, awesome job, well done.
Thanks for for suggestion bro.
Amazing, with such simple tools!
Thankyou
...Except for the lathe...
👏gran trabajo men felicitaciones por lo que hiciste 💪♥️👏😎

Thank you friend. I hope i gave ideas to others that who have plan to make their own lathe machine.
@@CHELLDONZCraftsandDIYs yeah I will probably make one once I come up with all the necessary metal and parts. Unless I find a great deal on a whole lathe to start with.
Hello

I Love the idea of using nuts to align the tap!
Yes because need to straight the thread to the hole.
@@CHELLDONZCraftsandDIYs
I understand why.
I use my pillar drill, but its not always convenient, so your 'nuts' idea, is a good compromise.
great job host and congrats!
Salamat kaibigan.
üşenmeden nasıl da yaptın öyle bro helal olsun sana
Very creative. Good job.
Thank you.
You sir have the tenacity of a chip bull.
Wow I build in my garage all the time and have built tools out of steel on occasion.
I could not imagine the hours you spent on that chuck lets agree for the sake of argument it had to have been over sixty.
for that at my current shop rate you could have bought a 4 jaw chuck attached to an old craftsman lathe.
One I assure you, would have been bolted to the bench and anchored in the floor.
Hello brother thank you for suggestion. Yes months before i finish the project because i work only on that project if i have vacant.
I use the drill to cut plate too before I got my band saw.
My technique was lay out @3/8 pilot drill with 23/64 then finish with the 3/8 and file with a course bastard file in a vice or clamped to a straight edge.
Great job pwede ka na mag patau ng sarili mong business sa pinas
Salamat kaibigan.
