This was the first song I worked on when I was joining the band! Easily one of my favorite Fallujah tracks ever. Lyrics: --------------------- Remnant from the site of a long-forgotten ritual Surrounded by the signs of a soul sadistic and cruel An omen lurking beneath my conscious mind Redemption or doom, salvation or demise? You find yourself holding on to obsessions pulling you down And they will haunt you Still reaching from the bottom of all your darkest doubts A latent threat emerges Untying every thread of my observance You've washed away all sense of purpose Another face under the surface Under the surface Defy the prophecy I'm not a victim of your tragedy Shifting reality A moving image in the dying flame Remnant from the site of a long-forgotten ritual Surrounded by the signs of a soul sadistic and cruel An omen betraying thoughts of my design Perceptions of truth are fading from my sight Depravity pervading, writhing in exquisite despair Malevolent inhabitant of your discarded prayers My touch is permeating and eating away at your soul Surrender into me as I take control Defy the prophecy I'm not a victim of your tragedy Shifting reality A moving image in the dying flame The crushing agony The fading whispers of calamity Suffer in non-belief Transmissions failing, I'm so far away
wow.... since when does fallujah go full groovy ?! FKN love it!!1!111 just have to add: saw the guys live in leipzig around 2017 they played my fav: carved from stone. cheers
Thank you for sharing the lyrics! In your mind, what is the song about? I don't exactly understand what they mean, but as with most of Fallujah's lyrics, they seem to offer insight into the darkness of the human soul, while offering a perspective that is hopeful and beautiful. I just love this trademark mixture of Fallujah. Even though you guys are a number of albums in, it's still refreshing to hear as a death metal fan, and I'm proud to share your work with anyone I know.
@@Corranhorn122 There are a few different ways to look at it, but it’s generally about losing yourself to addictions / relapsing into dark times from your past. I wanted to represent it as a struggle against some kind of enemy that’s trying to possess your mind and take over against your will. The part at 2:28 until the last chorus shifts perspective over to the antagonist.
Saw them live on Monday and huge, huge props for playing the new album live. Nothing better than seeing a band's vision played loud. Especially liked how Kyle hung with the crowd while the band did the instrumental. Class move.
These 3 singles have me so hyped for the album, this is honestly giving me the same feeling as when Dreamless came out and I've been missing that unique feel that sadly didn't resonate with me in Undying Light. So far the tone of the songs have me super reeled in, the vocals are super well done and the album artwork is my favourite one since The Flesh Prevails. This is looking so good, thank you guys so much for the effort you've all put in. It really shows!
Oh my god why and how can I just semi-forget these geniuses?!!! This is one of the highest-phenomenally-intelligence-illuminating music performers ever, long live in ages!
For this song especially I felt it. Honestly glad they’ve really come around to a mature style that can balance all aspects of who they are. Seems like we’re about to hear a great effort.
You pair this song with really quality speakers and you can tell how great the production was on this track. I'm stoked on the new album for sure! The lyrics so far have been kind of silly but then again I don't confide in their music because the lyrics speak to me lol
I'd say the people that find the lyrics silly, just don't have the intellect to comprehend them properly. Or at least everyone that up voted this simply didn't put much effort into actually thinking them through. They're great lyrics. They speak volumes. I've never understood people that listen to music, but don't give a rats ass about the message behind the music. Great shit, nonetheless. The production and musicianship is absolutely fantastic.
You guys rocks, and got a new level voice on record and live. Keep it believe me and I’ll hope see u guys soon and always better. Stay metal @fallujah 🤘
Yeah I’m gonna go out on a limb here and predict that this will be their best record so far. All 3 of the leaked songs have MORE than what felt absent from the last one.
Been following this band since The Harvest Wombs album, and its great to see how they improve their sound and bringing back so many great elements from previous works. Amazing band.
The bass sounds devastating! I’m really digging the production on this one. I also concur that the clean vocal work is extremely well done. The guitar work is always exquisite. It’s nice to still have my ass handed to me musically…great f’n song!
Yet another fantastic release. You guys are fucking killing it. When are you coming to the UK?? Not seen you since Bloodstock '17 and that was AMAZING.
@@aprioris.knowledge2765 deal with it....I was hoping this album was more like the flesh prevails and not their last(lame) album..... so far Im not impressed but will give the rest of the album a chance

Perfect evolution of the Dreamless sound
Scott has redeveloped the use of a whammy bar my fuck he is amazing. These new singles got me feeling the way when I first heard Sapphire
I agree he’s the only one doing it like this

Lyrics:
---------------------
Remnant from the site of a long-forgotten ritual
Surrounded by the signs of a soul sadistic and cruel
An omen lurking beneath my conscious mind
Redemption or doom, salvation or demise?
You find yourself holding on to obsessions pulling you down
And they will haunt you
Still reaching from the bottom of all your darkest doubts
A latent threat emerges
Untying every thread of my observance
You've washed away all sense of purpose
Another face under the surface
Under the surface
Defy the prophecy
I'm not a victim of your tragedy
Shifting reality
A moving image in the dying flame
Remnant from the site of a long-forgotten ritual
Surrounded by the signs of a soul sadistic and cruel
An omen betraying thoughts of my design
Perceptions of truth are fading from my sight
Depravity pervading, writhing in exquisite despair
Malevolent inhabitant of your discarded prayers
My touch is permeating and eating away at your soul
Surrender into me as I take control
Defy the prophecy
I'm not a victim of your tragedy
Shifting reality
A moving image in the dying flame
The crushing agony
The fading whispers of calamity
Suffer in non-belief
Transmissions failing, I'm so far away

As the long time fan, Kyle Shaefer is definitely the best thing that happened with the band
At first, I didn’t get this song honestly. After a few listens though, it’s very cool.
I’m digging the new material.

I just love how that lead guitar floats over everything else during parts of the track.
Hands down the best single from this album. Every track so far has been perfect. This track gives me the harvest wombs vibes 💚✨

Definitely the heaviest track so far. At this rate, the album might actually be better than Harvest Wombs
The Harvest Wombs still better!

I was just thinking this I really hope they have a the majority of the songs with out them tbh
First time ever hearing a Fallujah song I just didn't really care for.
is that a woman? wth is that thing
Incredible musicianship. Wack vocals unfortunately. Not a huge fan
