Experience Flor & Fjære - Norway's own Garden of Eden

Flor & Fjære, which is built on the windy island of Sør-Hidle outside Stavanger in Norway, simply has to be experienced - You won't believe it until you see it!
The place is a paradise in all the colors of the rainbow and is a feast for all the senses.!
The space offers an experience you won't soon forget. I visited the island in 2022 and was incredibly impressed by the beautiful landscape and the relaxing atmosphere.
The main attraction at Flor & Fjære is undoubtedly the garden. It is incredibly beautiful and gives you the feeling of being in another country. I could spend the whole day there exploring the different areas. There were also several benches and places to sit down and take in the view.
It all started in 1965. Åsmund and Else Marie Bryn bought a windy homestead at the northern tip of Sør-Hidle, where they built a family cabin.
In 1987, Åsmund received disability benefits and began planting the area.
Gradually the garden got bigger and bigger. Flor & Fjære took shape and people flocked to it.
After a while there was a need for catering, and in 1995 his son Olav and his wife Siri opened the restaurant.
Now it is the third generation, Endre Bryn Hidlefjord and his wife Hanne Kvernberg Hidlefjord, who have taken over, and the plans for new extensions are ready.
A visit to Flor & Fjære is a visit to the family's garden.
Cultivated with passion over three generations, the garden has grown from a windswept homestead to a colorful oasis - and they love to welcome guests!
The family works throughout the year with one clear goal; to create the best garden - ever!

The season is from May to September, and is open Monday to Saturday. It is closed on Sundays.
All visits must be arranged in advance or follow regular departures.
