"She's the best singer in the world" look who's talking! lol such a humble guy.
Clay
Pavarotti was very imprested about Rob Halfords Vocal Range. He asked him how he can do such a high clear C.....
There was another operatic singer who said while she wouldn't work with most singers, she'd like to sing with Rob Halford.
Rahi Miah That's what the new gays scene needs a lot of that kinda pie
No she is is the best woman singer in the world and freddie is the best male singer in the world by a mile:)I love this man I miss him so much...
Freddie had a great voice, but I dont' think he was the best singer in the world, the best front man though? Yes
Would give anything to meet Freddie & attend a queen concert with Freddie still alive😭😭
I feel exactly the same , I would have loved to have had the chance to go to listen to him live! It breaks my heart that such a great talented singer, amazing performer like no many others out there having been taken so early in his life. So sad
Except you can't, he's dead. There is nothing for you to give up to make this happen.
@@jamessingleton1583 yeah man, slam that lazy rhetoric, haha ;-)
As an 8old I saw him and Queen in 1985 at Wembley for live aid and I saw them with Adam Lambert good but it wasn't the same i wish the same as you I wish Freddie was still here entertaining the world.
I think the entire world would sell out of he suddenly came back. If even "lesser" bands are selling out tickets within minutes after having been for a single decade. Imagine Freddie Mercury returning, the world would freak. Mostly, of course, over the fact of him rising from the dead, but anyway... XD
He looks like completely different person without a mustache. That's amazing
Exactly
Also aids makes him lool like shit :(
I liked his big teeth and mouth with or without the mustache.
No one looked similar and it gave him his special charm and character.
Saw the documentary a few days ago where a guy played him. When he got sick and shaved his mustache... When he later grew beard to hide an Aids wound that wouldn't heal... It was emotional to think how it must've felt for him to deteriorate and try to hide it...
The press was bad, but now a days... How people don't think or care about a sick entertainers/celebrity s feelings, at all..
I sometimes cringe really worry how the person feels when people comment on their appearance...
I wouldn't probably go out anymore, if I got sick or didn't fit the standard and all press wrote about was " what happened " and people laugh and bully in comment section on Internet.
I ramble now, sorry.. Just thought about it, and out it came..
Almost unrecognizable without it.
He didn't have a mustache when Queen first started
How awful this time period must have been knowing he was on borrowed time, yet so brave of him. RIP Freddie!
His Zoroastrian faith anchored him. I know he was scared as he was human but studying his faith I've found that death isn't feared as it is in Judeo-Christianity which I am a member. Guy was an ox stamina wise.
Hach Ottis
In Christianity, fear is something we aren’t to have...no worries or anything like that, instead we should have faith. Of course, it can be difficult sometimes to not worry or fear something, but we can pray about it and ask God to help us have strength. Anyway, just wanted to share that...it’s important in the Christian faith.
We all on borrowed time
Michelle Streater even more of a reason to find God and not the Devil
He may not have known yet. He was diagnosed towards the end of 87.
He passed Nov. 24, 1991. He was 45 years old. I've missed him since then.
He never ever went the poor me route. Freddie was a strong man.
Drama Queen that’s a wonderful thing too, he was positive and didn’t want to be victim . now a days everyone whines and complain about everything
He was very sure of himself and knows what he’s signing he got braver when he got very sick. In his interview he said he wants to go to hell its more interesting people in hell. What made him say something like that. He knew he was a bad boy and misbehaving in public kissing a man in a gay club while he was video taped. At that time it was not ok but know we see two men kissing or having their own show even having their own kids is not weird or not acceptable in now society .Freddy was coming out even though he had a living girlfriend . He loved her dearly but he went out and had too much fun caused him his own sort lived life for a talented musician like him he was ahead of his time. So sad to see him suffer and die. But his music will never be out of style. Love love to listen to him and his powerful voice and the words of his songs nobody can do that.. there is only one Freddy Mercury (Queen)
He wasn’t like “look at me, I’m dying, feel bad for me” or “I can’t do this I’m dying I want to stay home and lay down” “Poor me” he set it aside, he faced the world with a smile and acted completely normal, and with that, he’s my idol and he’s my inspiration.
Yeah
@@froubou26 Your 1950’s Freudian slip was still showing in 2020, love
is it just me, or does it seem like Fred is always interviewed by the same German guy?
+jay m
believe it or not but freddie was incredibly shy and only comfortable talking to a very few lucky people ,.so he stuck with people he liked and trusted . he was an unreal performer ,greatly missed .
You´re right jay m
The German guy interviewing him did a lot of queens videos.
He isn't German it's an Austrian guy called Rudi Dolezal.
That explains why his accent remind Schwazenegger a bit :)
Can't get enough of this guy.
Kemal Gürer Koloğlu me neither!!
I swear
Vay kardesin demek ki bir tek ben degilim
Include me on this one.
Me neither....humble and sweet, yet he's such a sexy beast
I’ve been struggling very badly with depression for a while, even go so far as to say suicidal. Videos of Freddie ( interviews, being a diva, seeing him with his cats) has been the only thing to get me through. It’s sad, this man will never know how important he is to me. And how even though he’s not here, he’s still saving me....
I think that's absolutely lovely. I hope this comment finds you feeling better.
Annabel Lee Aww, thank you so much, I am actually doing much better these days 💕
I sure hope you are coming out of your depression. I know all too well how paralyzing it is as I also suffer from severe depression. It is hard for others to understand. Hang in there..
Jennifer Tittle thank you so much for that ❤️ I have my good and bad days, hopefully with the coming of warmer weather I’ll feel much better. Thank you 💕
Mcgewgler Tims you can get thought this
One of the greatest musicians to have ever graced our planet. An amazing singer-songwriter. I wish I had 1% of his talent.
Gary Hamilton You do, you just need to use it ;)
Freddie Mercury - genius, pure and simple.
Gary Hamilton He was the definition of excellence, a rarity especially today
I'd be ok with .05% That is literally how much raw talent you need to have these days.
Freddie is and always will be an absolute LEGEND! His music & composing is TIMELESS. 👑🎤🎼❤️
It's hard to believe this great man has been gone 25 years.
***** yeah me too. I think Adam Lambert did a great job but NO ONE can replace our Freddie :(
Its so nice to hear his voice again 😪😭
tracy langsley 24 u mean till be 25 on Thursday becuse he died in nov 1 day before I was born in

November 24*
It's a strange feeling to miss someone that I've never met. I wish that I had been alive in his time.
How cute he was, such a genius, never to be replaced
Freddie had the most amazingly expressive eyes. What warmth and sparkle.
You can see a slight Kaposis Sarcoma on his cheek below his eye. You can also see his face is slightly bloated. He had already started medication at this point and was aware of his status. You can see he's very "uptight" and seems nervous, not quite his confident funny self as usual. My absolute rock idol.
Hmmmm. I don't know man. He looks chubby. But I don't think he started medications here. From what I heard this interview was made just a few weeks later freddie found out he was sick he started medications around June 1987. That's what jim hutton said once.
Agreed. Seems like he was trying to seem normal but was very uncomfortable. And all of his former interviews were right up on his beautiful face, not six feet away.
Raymond Michael I asked my mom about this recently. She’s been a nurse since before I was born. I wondered if they used steroids in treatment, because his face did get fuller before he lost all that weight :/
Spot on observation Raymond. I can't imagine what was going through his mind at that point.
I thought it strange he was so far back from the camara
One of the greatest singers I've ever heard in my life, and my favorite singer ever. His voice is instantly recognizable. It's lovely and there's nothing like it
+Ian Leo i hope you relize he died in 1991 not 2008 and that he looked much different and that that man is not him
+Jake Sutton : It was published in 2008. If you read it says the interview took place in 1987. Look at those eyes and the nose and for God's sake, his teeth. Stop the picture and put a moustache on him. Of course it's Freddie.
marcopolokitty it's not I'm telling you. Freddie doesn't look like that. Also the video quality looks mid 2000s not 1980
+Jake Sutton : This isn't "Rockstar Freddie." This is how he behaved in real life. He was quite shy and that shows. But it definitely is Freddie.
+marcopolokitty really? You're saying this is not him? Lol you're hilarious.
he never died in my heart
When not on stage he’s so reserved and polite
He has a sweety personality. he was shy and reserved. On stage he was implacable.
He's so humble and socially awkward in the most adorable way. So lovable. His dislike for being interviewed is so sweet.
Even knowing that he was dying or going to die he was so upbeat and so full of life.😢
Its Crazy how all through the 70s he looked the same, all through most of the 80's he looked the same but BAM! As soon as it hits 1987 he took on so many different appearances, obviously many due to his illness
1987, he was diagnosed with AIDS
TheProudAssassin 1775 and I've heard that as early as 1982 he had hiv.
@@ericebjonesii1378 maybe but it was probably the incubation period. It was '87-'89 when the effect intensified.
TheProudAssassin 1775 probably he had hiv in the early 80s and developed full blown aids by 1987
@@Ben-yj8ye exactly. The incubation period can be as long as 10-15 years.
How excited and happy Freddie is when he talks about Montserrat Caballé. So sweet to see, made me smile although there were also a couple of tears in my eyes too.
That really touched me too. I've watched the few interviews they did together and you can see the genuine love and respect he had for "Monsey". It's so sad he was taken too young, but at least he got to sing with someone he idolised and you can see how much it meant to him. RIP Freddie.
They had such amazing chemistry together, may they sing forever in heaven
"Hello my name is Freddie Mercury and this is my latest recording" :(
I wish he was still alive, no one won't replace him, never. He will be always the best! Forever in my heart. Love you, Freddie :(
Amazing singer, musician and performer. A lovely man too. So generous and handsome.
Incredible gifted human being.. We miss you Freddie terribly...
I was and still am in love with Freddie, the singer, actor, man, persona, child, everything about him. I am listening to his albums constantly in the past few months and can't get enough. I find different meanings and nuances to his songs compared to how I felt it when he was alive. It is an eternal novelty, freshness to his music.
No singer can get close to him, not in my life time.
Love you Freddie, will always do!
+Juliabella1225 : I'm with you - I listened to all the hits on the radio and have the greatest hits album but all these CZcams videos are just a revelation. They wrote so much more than stadium rock - listen to "Save Me." It makes me tear up every time I hear it. It is just masterful. It was written by Brian May, and Freddie makes it live.
+marcopolokitty
Save me, Mother love, How I can go on, Somebody to love, and so many more, they are masterpieces. I dare to say that all his music is a masterpiece. His personality, the charisma and energy he projected everywhere he was, his generosity and childish smirks/faces, what a man!. He was a Sacred monster, the most loved singer ever.
It's 1 year later (2017) and I just read this. I am happy to find out that there are others doing the same as I am...I have rediscovered my love of Freddie again. He was a big part of my life for 20 years. Now that I have read up and watched his friends and band mates interviews I see the true meaning of some of his magical songs. I now see how hard it was for him to. The heartbreaking In the Lap of The Gods is the struggle with his family who refused to support his work. BORHAP is the proven story of him coming out. Love of my Life, ended well for him. lol. I love this man and his sheer will to overcome at a time when his own religeon still stoned gay's. He is an inspiration to all who have had to overcome adversity. Love you Freddie, you are magnificent.
Arlitta Rodriguez
His family, Jer and Bomi Bulsara, and his sister Kashmira Cooke along with her husband Roger and both of their children fully supported Freddie. His mother gave several interviews regarding how proud herself and Freddie's dad was of him. They went to many, many of his concerts. Kashmira Cooke gave an interview I recently read in which she states "I don't know what it was like to have an ordinary brother because my brother was extraordinary". Her husband has so many kind words to say about Freddie also. 🌷👑
Freddie Mercury: you are, Somebody to Love!

I love watching freddie's interviews. Hes very well spoken and always seems humble and sometimes shy talking about himself. I love he always says Queen did this as a group and he stays unified with his band. You never heard any of them speak bad publicly about the others
That slight whistling buzz when he pronounces his 's' is so addicting to hear to and I don't even know why!
Wish Heath Ledger were back too
+Mr Montage That too was a horrible loss of a great actor climbing in prime... I miss him very much! And imagine how many other movies he would have either made or been in if he didn't perish so soon in life. He was a great actor without a doubt!
If you listen to his mum she has the same s sound 🙂🙂🙂
Now I can’t stop hearing that buzz sound
I have the same facial structure and overbite as him. I can pronounce that whistle if I wanted to. Hell if you cover the top half of my face I look alot like him! Guess it's my jawline.
Can we just talk about how much energy he had?
Freddie was a legend, fly high 🕊
One of the most fluid and wonderful interviews I have seen. He was really excited about this collaboration. He hated interviews, but this one is a gift. A wonderful glimpse into his creative spirit! Love love love!
Freddie ...
You are the best 👍👍
Imagine the songs we did not get because he passed so young, what a wonderful kind man ♥
No Freddie, I'm pretty sure you were and still the best singer in the world...
The Greatest Voice of All Time..♥️
One of the greatest of ever .
My dear Freddie, the hero of my youth singing those amazing Queen songs, inspiring me in so many ways. That little blemish on his cheeck was the first sign of acquired Kaposi's sarcoma due to HIV. I was devastated when he passed away, I had just moved to London from South America to study. I was one of the lucky fans to have seen the band live 3 times. Absolutely magical. Him and Queen will forever have a place in my heart.
if he had the science we have today...he would have still been alive
Heartbroken x
That the poor man passed away..
@@calebdonahue-lobato6932 I wish that he was alive, he was a genius when it came to making music and the singing he was the BOMB
I have been saying this about Freddie forever .. That he was a brilliant musical genius And the best male singer that ever lived..I think the movie about him helped people realize who he is and what he was and how sad it is that he is no longer here anymore...He was funny too and absolutely gorgeous beautifuL
Freddie forevahh
he's so beautiful and charming :)
Given Freddies greatness on stage, he seemed like a regular guy you could go down the pub with. A very articulate man as well.
he’d wanna dig your walls after 😂
how could he smoke so much and have such a great voice .. guess its natural.. every interview ,,every video he is smoking ..its hard on the stage if ure a chain smoker but i donno whats with mr mercury .. such great voice and stamina even with smoking so much.. im baffled
i think he had might quit later on due to his failing health from aids.
Have you ever noticed he didn’t really inhale? As a past smoker, I know I drew the smoke into my lungs. Freddie never seemed to inhale that deeply.
He didnt like interviews, thats why he is always smoking in them to keep calm,in his private life he didnt smoke much
According to his personal assistant Peter "Phoebe" Freestone, he smoked early in the 80s because after watching his interviews, he noticed his hands were going everywhere. Also, he did it because he thought it was macho and gave a huskiness to his singing voice.
When he was told to stop all of his vices, he never stopped completely, he just did those things very rarely, usually just in the studio.
'Cause his balls are boiled🤣😂
Such a humble and beautiful man he was. A legendary voice RIP
graceful outside and inside such a good person. When he spoke no one could imagine how his voice singing was so strong, powerful, beautiful and just amazing ! a pure angel in his musical expression !
I love Freddie Mercury. His voice is so soothing to me❤️
He was so handsome he seemed to have a good personality to go with those good looks i.think he loved people and had a kid heart wish he would of had children tho
No despair even with hopeless diagnosis. Two more great albums with Queen after this interview and many music videos including brave Breakthrough on a train. Work until last power left him - incredible last songs Winter’s Tale and Mother Love. He was really a very strong man with a phenomenal talent and will live in history as one of the greatest artists of all times.

What a huge loss, he died so young and would still b making music today no doubt if he was still alive. Queen was the band that got me making music and is probably still, to me, the greatest band ever. I could c y this is the last interview; his health began a sharp decline after this.
The problem was, he felt invicible in his "heydays". When he realised what he got, he was more careful. But it was too late.
@@tiborvisi7438 that is not true. He was a gentleman. Literally a gentle guy. He appeared crazy on stage but that's because he was rocking out to the music.
Nice commentary Daniel. Are you still making music ?

Freddie would be the last person in the entire world to have ever sold out, and everyone knows it. That was such a great track, because he really got to draw on a song that influenced him so much and was so relevant to him. His grin and big eyes as he’s introducing it are so cute. ❤️

He is so excited about working with her!! It just shines through that he is over the moon to perform with Montserrat.
Just saw this...my eyes filled with tears...Freddie was such a lovely down to earth man...he will be missed forever 💖
Every time I see him smoking I am taken aback because I would think he'd have been concerned what it would do to his voice.
Many have noticed that he doesn't really inhale when smoking. If you pay close attention he almost "sips" the cigarette if you will.
No one why both men and women wanted him.
Such a beautiful man.

Freddie was so honest and authentic. He makes my heart feel lighter and purer, and as sad as it makes me to think of how he died, I feel so happy knowing someone like him graced this earth.
listening to his soothing and elegant speaking tone really does not prepare you for his singing voice, which is probably the most iconic Rock voice of all time
I love this interview a lot because he’s so content here. Even though he was sick at this point he’s like a giddy kid taking about all of the projects he’s been working on. It makes me so happy that Monserrat decided to work with Freddie when she did, I feel like it really lifted his spirits.
Freddie was a savant, he could do anything and. will be alive as legends never die! Music doesnt age! ❤️
I will never stop loving him and his music, what an extraordinary human being he was! Yes, like many of us here I will forever be sad that I would never be able to hear him live 😢

when the heck are scientist gonna find a cure to take away this damn illness from the earth ? :( freddie we miss you
Well he died just a few months before the first cure came on market .. now , you will almost live normal. With medicine.
Hope this cure reach every single infected with HIV ...thanks for sharing the link
i do know that , and its very, bad but still now they can have an almost normal lifespan
zigadena Gabardini Oh and you do not live normal. You are constantly sick and weak. Where do you get this info from??? Many people's body reject the drugs and it does not work for them and they end up getting full blown aids faster than people who can take the meds. No matter what, you still die of AIDS (horrible death)
Ruby Quijano Unfortunately, there was no medicine to CURE Hiv but to help you avoid being sick from random viruses. It is really difficult because it "stucks" to your cells to block anti-virus product to be created so it is really hard to face it. Even if there is a cure this time it would cost millions and only billionares would afford it. So just use condom...
Love the way he says "Montserrat Caballé" and "Barcelona"... amazing song 😄
That was cute at the end, "hello my name is Freddie Mercury and this is my latest recording, the great pretender"
Charisma, this word was created for our Freddie, a real showman, the most beautiful voice in the world, the best!! there is no need to say, a true Legend, thank you for existing my love Freddie 🙏🙏🙏
He always said he would never make old bones, he said he had no intention of living till 70, but man in 45 years of life he certainly made one hell of a big impact. This is a sad interview because you can see he has started to deteriorate from the Karposi's Sarcoma on his face.
Adam Michael Sherratt I believe the interview about not living to be 70 was after he was diagnosed with AIDS :(
Legend. Mercury's name is mentioned more by famous artists than any other name in interviews. Younger generations discover who he was everyday and then find out he is dead. It's such a shame he died so young. The remaining members of queen claim they are too old to tour and play but if Freddie was around they probably would still be rocking. Crazy band. Unbelievably talented. Unlike no other.

He knew in his heart that he wasn't going to be long for this world, I think even before the AIDS diagnosis. I just appreciate all the gifts he left us & what a humble & considerate man he was, inside & out.
