  • I TRIED TO REFINISH MY CONCRETE FLOOR FOR UNDER $200!
    After hitting some road bumps on demo day are finally back in the garage workshop! Today we’re tackling concrete floor refinishing! I was quoted over $1,000 to have this job contracted out… so, I decided to try to do it myself for under $200!

    Concrete resurfacing tip: if at some point you want a smoother result use a product called surebroom and be sure you use a magictrowel. You can pour it over the existing coat and even add lines with decorative tape so when they brake you get the illusion of tiles. Awesome job 🙌🏼

      Shop is about 300 square feet! Exterior reveal will come with the big reveal! I’m not going to lie… I wanted to spend $10k on my shop, and having it rebuilt because of the mold cost me more than double that 😩 (which is why I’m trying to do what I can to save some money on the build). I almost wish I just started from scratch. Probably would have been cheaper.

    • @diyhuntress
      @diyhuntress  Před rokem +4

      I thought about it, but the floor is actually not in good enough shape for an epoxy floor. I’d have to grind the entire floor down to get smooth enough to take the finish properly. And, I don’t have time for that. 😩

    • @TamarLitvot
      @TamarLitvot Před rokem +1

      @@diyhuntress I think the floor is perfect for a workshop, especially the Van prints! Seriously, you wouldn’t want to so a smooth polished floor in a place that’s going to see a lot of messy activity.

      @katieallen3927 Před rokem +2

      @@diyhuntressinstead of grinding my floor it was covered with a leveling compound and when that cured the garage floor coating was installed. That was two years ago and it looks as good as the day it was installed. Your garage floor will look good just as it is.
