Olivia has a lovely tone, but she lacks control, although much of that is to do with the huge amount of air she is letting go to get that breathiness. After Rita turns Olivia loses the pitch completely for a bar or two, but there is a gorgeous fragility to Olivia's performance, and I think that's what wins the day here. I must say I fear for her in a battle, but for the moment I did enjoy parts of this and will look forward to more.

Likewise, she doesn't sound much like any other singer I can think of, as far as I am concerned that counts in her favour. Some of the issues mentioned by others, such as her breathing, can be corrected by a half decent voice coach. Not having any talent or singing like a dripping tap cannot...she could develop into something very special.
As an artist, your song choice is everything. Yes it is called the voice, but the voice is not the only aspect that allows a individual to go far on the show and in the music industry. The way you sing a song and the song you choose does have a way of impacting on how you connect with the audience. First impressions are everything, and the arrangement she made for this song, although she was trying to be creative, backfired. But that is just my opinion. Very few people can cover a nirvana song properly, in my opinion she butchered it.

She wasn't horrible. Her voice is pretty good honestly. Vocally she's a good talent, but dear lord did she butcher that song. Smells Like Teen Spirit is a high energy rebellious song and had she ripped off that dress and started jumping around and putting the right energy into it like I was hoping she would, she wouldn't have seemed so bad.

When I want to hear a blonde sultry chick singing it, I'll put her on. The beauty of music shouldn't be repeated by trying to impersonate the original band, there should be an original twist on it.

Like it doesn't have to be a "high spirited rebellious song" you can change it, in fact if you listen to the large majority of talented artists who cover other songs they will almost always put their own spin on it, sometimes making it even better than the original. This however definitely wasn't the case, her version is plain awful and almost insults the original.

You should check out Lana's cover of "Heart Shaped Box", you might be surprised. Also some of her songs are very difficult to sing because of how wide the vocal range that she uses is. You can't seriously be a Twenty one pilot fan and have a bad opinion about Lana or any opinion for that matter.

Her songs are literally just low notes (difficult, but not something she's doing live correctly) and falsetto/head voice. She's really off pitch most of the times. But there are some ok performances where she doesn't push herself and she sounds decent

I ended up here from the version The Voice of Romania ! To be frank in my opinion Larisa Ciortan deserve first place she did an amazing cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit ! She was much better ,absolutley nailed the vocals with her different pitches !

I dunno guys there's something very sacrosanct about Smells Like Teen Spirit, you just don't mess with it. It's written by the band as a loud, angry, angst fuelled anthem of rebellion for Generation X, and doing the exact polar opposite of that like has been done here just seems wrong, and takes away all meaning in the song. Don't get me wrong, a good cover of the song is always welcome, but this is way too drastic for something which had song an anti-this message.

As one of the biggest Nirvana fans around, I absolutely loved this. No, it isnt Kurt. Its something new and different. Her soft shaky voice gave it a dark beautiful tone full of soul.

This is angelic. Captivating, pure and simple. I understand people will continuously compare it back to the original and some may feel this song should not be touch. However, despite this song being such a masterpiece, what this girl does from the original to this is sensational. Her voice is so timid and delicate, a fibre of glass. Hate that she covered it, but don't deny yourself the enjoyment of it.
