Couldn't agree more. I refuse to wear anything g with that shitty new logo. Not only is it lame, by switching the design, they've robbed us of the past. The Dolphins have been crap on a plate since Marino retired. Having the real logo would at least give fans a link to past greatness while we suffer what the team has become.
I think it's time for a movement to get the real logo back.

I respectfully disagree with that assessment of this unquestionably Great Dolphins dynasty continuing, especially if the aforementioned Warfield ,Csonka ,Kick , collaboration had remained in Miami after 74 . Csonka wasn't ever capable of capturing his 1000 yd proficiency again , attrition and suttle age reduced his elite impact , Kick for as good as he was as a utility package ,was just that ,a utility package player , historically underated Warfield once he returned to the NFL with the Browns never caused the decades and possibly greatest dynasty ever Pittsburgh any excessive problems like he did prior with the Dolphins . The Dolphins were vanquished by the Raiders in 74 ,the Steelers obviously beat that same team to advance to and eventually win their first SB .There wasn't a matchup that the Dolphins possessed even with those declining but still solid players that would have dented that legendary Steel Curtain . Pittsburghs combination of youth , burgeoning.hof talent through it's roster by the mid 70's was a impossible barrier to hurdle when they were psychologically locked in " exception being 77 " the Franco ,Blier injury dismissing them from the 76 conference championship game vs Oakland played a pivotal role in Pittsburghs loss ,otherwise 5 Lombardi trophy's would have decorated Three Rivers Stadium by the end of the 70's . The Dolphins actually did a remarkable job of reloading the roster with RB Bennie Malone ,Wr's Freddie Solomon ,Natt Moore , and retooled the defense into a excellent unit ,and still got dismantled by Pittsburgh , particularly inthe 79 divisional round 34-14 ,which happened to be the last season semblance ever of the Steelers dynasty and they still dominated a solid Dolphins team . The Dolphins dynasty deserves it's flowers ,i objectively believe that they were versatile and deep enough to play in Any Era and capture a SB ,despite nonobective popular perception by some irrational so called pundits ,they were a frightening machine that simply snatched any inkling a team has of defeating them away like a merciless school bully . Great from top to bottom franchise , ownership ,front office ,coach ,staffing ,players and yes that vastly underrated fan base waving those white towels ,singing that Dolphins fight song in support of the team . Greatest compliment you can pay to a dominant champ is that they were so good they were boring , for audiences who had no dog inthe fight ,just nonpartisan observers who wanted to be entertained . A truly remarkable team.indeed ,one that is unfortunately.miscast as being one dimensional and was successful only because they came along when there were no dynasty's devoloped inthe AFC yet to challenge them or they become old " chiefs ,colts " ,all lies ,the Dolphins were quite frankly just that great . They however weren't good enough hold off the Steelers dynasty by 74 .The 72 Steelers who loss to the undefeated Dolphins inthe conference championship game didn't have 5 eventual hofers on that roster untill 74 ,Bradshaw hadn't quite matured into the Hof QB and league MVP, 2 time SB MVP he eventually became , by the mid ,70's the Steelers were to deep, versatile ,had too many ultra talented ,great players in their prime collaborated with elite veterans who could all take over a game individually or blend into the team concept and defeat any opponent .

@@haroldmccoy6748 Good analysis. But there's lots of if's, and's, or but's, and shoulda coulda woulda's when discussing the past. Miami most likely would have been the team of the decade and the best dynasty ever if the Raiders didn't win on a last-ditch desperation play in the Sea of Hands game. The AFC championship game would have been played in Miami, where the Dolphins would have probably won considering how immense their home-field advantage was. They won 31 in a row from 1971-1975. This isn't to say they were better than Pittsburg in 1974, but the best team doesn't always win. That would have had Miami going to 4 SBs in a row and the only team to ever threepeat, in addition to the undefeated season.

@@haroldmccoy6748 I agree there was no way to prevent the Steelers from becoming the Team of the 70s. Certainly by 1975 they would've beaten the Dolphins even if their stars had not bolted to the WFL, but I think if Miami had beaten the Raiders in the 74 playoffs, they would've defeated the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game. Talented as they were they were still too young. (And if Miami had reached the Super Bowl, does anyone seriously think the Vikings could've done anything against them??)

The 1973 Dolphins were pretty much a carbon copy of the 1972 Dolphins, except in '73 Griese was available for more games. The narrator of this film, John Facenda died in 1984 (September 26th to be exact). I disagree. The '72 Dolphins had an easy schedule a won some games by the skin of their teeth. the '73 team was so much more dominant and in a conservative ball control era won all their games by an average of 17.5 points. Dominance!!!

That's a shame that Facenda was able to do only one Super Bowl highlight film that involved my 49ers and that was Super Bowl XVI vs the Bengals at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan back on January 26, 1982, which the Niners won 26-21as the Niners won their first Super Bowl but that would have been something that if he was still alive and did the '84 49ers highlight film or their Super Bowl XIX over the Dolphins.

The 1972 Dolphins were no fluke.
No team ever did in a single season, in history, what they did. And I'm not taking about going undefeated.
    Number 1 in Offense
    Number 1 in Defense
    Number 1 in Points Scored
Number 1 in Fewest Points Allowed
    Number 1 in Special Teams
Number 1 in Most Takeaways (Turnovers)
Number 1 in Fewest Giveaways (Turnovers)
    Least Penelized Team
Greatest Rushing Attack in NFL History 3,000 yards in a 14 game season
    THEY WERE A MACHINE
I would put them up against any team in history.
In 1973, they were even better than 1972, winning another SuperBowl.
In those 2 years there record was 32-2, a winning percentage of 94.12%
Throw in 1974 & there record is 43-5. a winning percentage of 90.0%
    No one comes close!

I saw every game, both seasons. The '73 team was better in my opinion, for these reasons:
They were more dominant in their wins
Everyone was gunning for them - think about it, the previous year they were the undefeated Super Bowl champs. This made it more difficult to win. Everyone knew their game plan too-- RUN. And it was only more dominating than ever.
They were way more dominant in post-season. Perfect Season they won their post-season games by 6, 4, and 7 points. In '73, they won by 18, 17, and 17.
Their only two losses were a) a 5-point road loss to Oakland, which they avenged in the AFC Championship game, and b) a meaningless late season loss in Baltimore, in which they played only 2nd and 3rd stringers.

@Ramesh Nyberg -- not only were the '73 Dolphins more dominant than their famed 1972 counterparts, especially in the postseason, but they faced stiffer regular season competition. In 1973 the Dolphins played Buffalo twice, plus Pittsburgh, Oakland, Dallas, Cleveland, all of whom had winning records that year. The only teams the Dolphins faced in 1972 who finished above .500 that year were Kansas City and the New York Giants.

I was a Dolphin fan back then and the one stat I recall from this team was this, although it would be hard to prove now due to the loss of stats: this team possessed the ball the least of any team in the league that season and, yet, led the league in scoring. This meant that when they got the ball, they scored almost every possession.
As I wrote, this stat was mentioned during the end of that season on one of the broadcasts and is probably buried in the piles of stats that no one ever looks at anymore.

This team was so good that they enjoyed large leads in almost every game. Unfortunately, because they were so good, they unveiled something that has become a dirge to most teams ever since--the prevent defense.
Finding themselves up by 15+ points in most of their games, they began trading yards for time. They never lost any game with this new tactic. However, the following season, other teams began using it at the end of games even when they were up by less than 6 points, oftentimes losing a game they should've won,
The worst example was Super Bowl XVI, when Cincinnati lead San Francisco 21-19. Deploying the prevent defense they allowed the 49ers to move from their own 4 yard line to the game winning touchdown. The Bengals got out of the prevent defense, but by the time they did SF was already within field goal range. They lost that game 26-21, a game they should've won had they used their normal defense. Countless other games by every team have been lost using this defense.

They played only two teams with a winning record inthe Chiefs and Giants nether made the playoffs with 8-6 records, the Vikings were 7-7 . That dosent discredit the Dolphins illustrious achievement .They can only play the schedule presented ,and besides several strong teams teams in nfl history have had weak schedules and weren't successfully at going undefeated or winning the SB..2011 49ers with 9 probowlers 6 all pro's won 13 games and lost the nfc championship at home against the eventual SB champion NY Giants ,Hof QB Kurt Warner 2009 defending NFC Conference Champion Cardinals finished 10-6 had 5 probowlers ,3 All Pros ,lost inthe divional round . The undefeared Dolphins defeated the decades winningest team, the Raiders inthe conference championship game ,a team who would eventually win a SB 3 years later . The Dolphins esteemed accomplishment is elevated even more when you contemplate how other elite teams in nfl history have had a weak schedule but weren't capable of winning the SB ,let alone even getting to the Big Game . They were the first franchise to also advance to 3 consecutive SB's .Along the way inthe conference championship games they defeated a defending SB Colts team in 71 ,two eventual SB winners inthe Steelers 72,Raiders 73 ,the Steelers would become the team of the 70's decade and arguably the goat SB franchise ,of course as previously mentioned Dah Raiders would have the best winning % of any team inthe NFL and all of team sports inthe 70's . The Dolphins owe no apology for it's 1972 undefeated season ,they defeated great teams in the conference championship in order to get to the big game .

except they only played a 14 game regular season back then. it hardly seems fair because they play 16 game seasons now. we will never know what would have happened if miami would have had to play a 16 game regular season back then. isnt it incredibly ironic that the only team that the 1985 Chicago Bears lost to was the Miami Dolphins on a monday night ? if i remember right i dont think that miami was good that year. what about the New England Patriots winning every single game only to lose to the NY Giants in the Super Bowl ?

The "not good" Dolphins lost in the AFC championship which, looking back now, was probably a good thing b/c it didn't give the Bears a chance to avenge that loss.

The playing only "14 games" perspective you scrutinize them engaging in only validates the Dolphins dominance and incredible achievement even moreso ,in a condensed season setting of 14 games every single game is vastly more important then a 16 game season , only four post season spots available ,1 wildcard entry .Every team is psychologically locked in to dismantle you especially if your the defending conference champion like the 72 Dolphins were .,injuries , complacency ,aren't a vehicle that can be traveled in when a single game could have such a detrimental effect upon a team making post season ,the 1967 Colts won 11 and lost only 1 game with 2 ties and weren't a playoff team , 1969 Rams , 77 Dolphins ,75 Oilers ,all won 10 games and weren't a post season team , all during the SB era 14 game formatt. The obvious analogy of a team can't control the schedule or dynamics of rules applied is why you cannot punish this incredible Dolphins team ,they could only play inthe structure upon which their time frame was ,that's it , they deserve their flowers from all .I'm a Steelers fan stating this ,yet my Objective respect for this organizations 3 year reign ,3 conference championships ,3 consecutive SB appearances ,2 NFL Championships ,a undefeated regular and post season ,speaks of a resonating greatness . Why not adequately grant them the notion that they would have still accomplished going undefeated and producing an exact replica of success from 71/73 in a 16 game context ? They certainly had all of the essential elements to do so ,they've already done it in a 14 game itinerary . Oh yeah ,those 85 Dolphins were a pretty good ball club ,they won their division with a 12-4 record and advanced to the conference championship game as the host team ,and were the defending conference champion ,having lost the previous years SB 18 to the 49ers . Their style of spreading a defense out would have been a distinct problem for that bears 46 defense ,styles makes fights and also creates mismatch problems between adversary's ,the Dolphins with Marino were a big problem for that Bears defenses heavy utility blitz scheme . The undefeated Patriots losing inthe SB had obsolutely nothing to do with a 16 game regular season ,they simply met a opponent who's strength " pass rush " neutralized the Patriots potent offense ,again mismatches can dismantle a opponents strength , and even more credibility should be acknowledged to the undefeared Dolphins based on your theory because the Dolphins actually won the SB against a superior opponent then the Patriots , the Bud Grant ,Fran Tarkenton ,Alan Paige ,Carl Eller,Paul Krause ,Chuck Foreman Vikings who would proceed to advance to and lose 2 additional SB's inthe next 3 years . The 71/73 Dolphins were great by any objective measure .Again I'm a Steelers fan ,but I gotta apply objectivity ,the early 70's decade Dolphins were great ,especially the 72/73 teams . 🌹 Given to the Dolphins 72/73 empire .
