It's never good news when a trolleybus line is turned into a bus line.

It's because they had to sell the old trolleybuses. Less vehicles means less lines. I wonder why they bought new buses but not new trolleybuses...

In Riga at moment 2021 year. 2 bus routes, has been replaced to 2 trolleybuses. 33: Abrenes iela - Kundziņsala -> 3: Central Tirgus - Sarkandaugava - Kundziņsala (as additional routes to regular 3rd trolleybus route) And 40: Jugla - Ziepniekkalns -> 4: Jugla - Ziepniekkalns (It became the longest trolleybus route in Riga, connect 2 edge of Riga microregions, from A to B it takes about a hour tripe). About Tallin Trolleybus, I see you have only 1 microregion where is trolleybus, it is Mustamae

Yes, Mustamäe has the starting point of all the current lines (1, 3, 4, 5). Back then there used to be a starting point in Väike-Õismäe too for lines 6 and 7, but now they’ve been replaced with bus lines 42 and 43. I’m jealous that in Vilnius there are new Trollinos, but here instead we have the new Urbino CNGs, which still are cool, but still not as exciting as a new trolley.

And why the trolley bus was replaced by a bus, where is the famous European fight for the environment.

I wish TLT bought these new Solaris Trollino 12s and 18s to replace the first and later the third generation of Trollinos. First I remember that line nr 2 was removed which had a route from Mustamäe to Estonia I think and replaced it with bus nr 24 and 24A (24 was recently itself replaced by the 24A from Kadaka to Estonia by making the departures of line 24A more frequent), then they removed the line 9 and replaced it with bus nr 72 and then they removed the line nr 6 and 7 and replaced it with bus line 42 and 43. Although now pretty much half of the entire bus fleet consists of the new Solaris Urbino 12 and 18 CNGs, which run on biogas or methane, which means they produce less CO2 (I guess), but still, I would be more excited to see a new trolley rather than a new bus. They’re definitely going to replace the lines 1, 3, 4 and 5 at some point, but definitely not before 2030 in my opinion, because they just fitted a third gen Trollino 12 and 18 with newer technology, which includes wireless driving, which means that the trolley is fitted with a battery that stores electricity from the overhead wires and when it’s full it can disconnect from the wires and drive like an electric bus. It’s not a new system, but for us here in Estonia, it’s pretty new and bizarre seeing a trolley driving with the poles down.

A bit daft replacing a trolley bus with a poluting desil bus which is not enviromently friendly. They could have converted to a T6 Translohor Tram I.e. a tram on rubber tyres.

I was sure that this fact took place in Estonia before seeing in chanel informations and confirmed that is an Estonian chanel.Because i already knew that in Estonia is a common practice to replace trolley busses with hybrid or electric busses.
