This pub is in my home town …. This pub has loads of character and the people in it have loads of character and this sketch really embraces that 😍
Wow, that's amazing!
Just watching the repay Feb 25, 2022. I just want to say, "WOW!" I just had a "lightbulb" go on! The most frustrating thing for me as an amateur artist, is trying to find peace and joy in my work. I tend to find my self tense and worried about whether things are in proper proportion. What an epiphany! I can create my own ideas of perspective and still create a work of art that makes me happy and proud. Instead of considering my variations as mistakes, I am now, because of this video, ready to explore allowing myself the freedom to just think of it as uniquely ME! thank you so much, Jeff>>>
That's amazing, Andie!! So excited to see what art you create!! 🧡
Exactly! I had same problem, so just be myself...
I loved the cutout method of seeing the building without the extra stuff around it.
We learned a lot from Jeff! 😊
Thanks!
I love your work. Thank you.
Second time I"ve watched this wonderful tutorial. So charming. I love your respectful whimsical treatment of these lovely buildings. Thanks for bringing us along on your sketching adventures.
Love it.. Jeff's style is refreshing. Its like stop taking life so seriously. Enjoy and have some fun.. Brilliant Jeff. Well done.
Absolutely true! Life is short, just have fun! 😉
watching Monday, January 15, 2024 in USA! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! this style! Cannot wait to try! Thank you!
I love your interpretation of the building
Wonderful fellow! He does caricature's of buildings! Love it
We love Jeff's style! 🧡
So much fun thanks for showing us I've never done this before
@@helendunbar8589 Tag us in your artwork when you get the chance! 😉
Loved this video and this style, thank you Jeff Carter. I just wanted to drop in a quick warning that Daniel Smith's Moonglow is not lightfast as stated by the company, just in case anyone is thinking of hanging up their paintings using it. It contains a pigment - PR177 - that is only lightfast in dense quantity (as in oils or acrylics) but becomes fugitive when water is added. See Kimberly Crick's tests and videos for more detailed information. Hope that helps avoid any heartache for beginners. Happy painting!
Thank you for that information, Christina! And thank you for tuning in. 😊
Just caught the replay and signed up for Jeff's mini workshop. I love the idea of urban sketching and want to get out there and sketch and paint but I let the overwhelm of capturing everything to be paralyzing to my efforts I love Jeff's approach and appreciate his willingness to share with other hobby artists like me!
Don't give up, you're doing so great! It can get overwhelming at times but the most important thing is to have fun. 😉
Nice architectural caricature. I just love it.
It's whimsical and fun!! :)
Super fun, indeed! 😉
Love your drawings so much more than the actual buildings 😂😂

@@EtchrLab I'm afraid I've sold all of them!
@@EtchrLab I just unearthed a watercolour of the Nutshell I painted!
I’ve been looking for some of Jeff’s videos and see he hasn’t posted in 2 years, does anyone know if he’s okay? Is he still sketching?
I draw directly with ink. I never use pencil.it is what it is and never change a line. I just want to have fun.
It's very important to have fun! 🧡
I missed this workshop sadly.. will mr carter be offering another one soon ?
Hi Christine! He will be having Classes soon. Check them out here: etchrstudio.com/search?type=product&q=jeff+carter
Does he have a website. I’m not on Instagram.
The workshop was wonderful. I could not attend the day of but the video is amazing. Did you say there is a private Facebook page I can join? I look forward to more workshops.
That's right, Karen! The Facebook group is right here: facebook.com/groups/322395185517685
Is the reference photo link the right one for this demonstration? I keep getting another photo.
It’s the wrong one. It’s the workshop reference, I think. I just bought the workshop and receive this reference.
Hi there! Apologies for that. We've updated the reference photo! 😊
I loved this so much I bought the workshop! Oh... and where’s the right reference for this building?
Thanks for pointing that out! We've placed the correct reference photo. 😉
@@EtchrLab thank you!!!!
Having so much fun following this video, but I can't tell what the printing on the pub says. Can you please clarify? Thanx.
Hi Linda, it says "The Nutshell". Hope this helps!
@@EtchrLab Thank you for your reply. I realized what the name of the pub was when I watched the entire video, which I should have done to begin with...
Any links for Jeff Carter to see his art?
Hey there! You may follow him on Instagram: @jeffswatercolour 😊
Ah, was hoping I wouldn't have to open an instagram account.😉
😍 😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you for watching, Cat!
YESSS
Woohoo! 🥳
Where is the reference for the work he did here? The reference photo I get is the one for the paid workshop
Hi Lílian! That's correct, it's for the Mini Workshop. It's updated now. 😊
For the workshop, where does the money go? What is the payment used for?
Hi Jr, the money supports our talented artists, our Team, and our company so that we can produce more art lessons for you! 😉

Jeff needs erasers that don't leave residue afterwards......kneadable erasers are perfect for this. Nothing to brush off the paper at all
