People with Joycon drift: Are you challenging me?
Bruh
Yes I am challenging you
I'mma just appreciate the level aesthetics
Those are some new interesting facts that I learned! How are they even possible!?
Due to the joystick being analog you get much more granular of an input range,
E
Pretty much what redd ztone said. With the joycon you get 360 degrees of angles as well as various pressure thresholds for "how much" you are pressing each angle. The underwater walk abused the additional angles, and everything else uses the various pressures.
Hi
@@brikfanz hi!
This actually makes a lot of sense for why tilt attacks exist in Smash and why using the D-pad for taunts
It's technically also impossible with stick drift :o
Also, first >:)
Here before the people say "O didn't expect to see you here"
Hi Matyas!
I have a Blue Shell
Well, sorry all people with JoyCon drift
rip me
well rip my green joycon ;( i don't really care about it anymore now that i have a pro controller
I'm pretty sure I clearchecked this with joycon drift at the time lol
*_wow walking underwater without losing speed. This probably must have been many mario gamers' hope until now_*
Lol ur here and I didn’t expect u :D
If I play that level, I'd... be sad
You prefer d-pad or your sticks drift?
@@FooFooANIMATIONS definitely d-pad
@@jakeindykguitar9581 I prefer using a d-pad too
Sad P-balloon noises
The 10 dislikes are from the people that have d-pad only controllers
“Uh” subtitles at 0:56
awesome
Fun fact: every mario level you make on a specifc version. The game will keep it at the same version no matter what. (This is done to prevent impossible levels)
Actually there's some glitches/mechanics that even get patched in older levels. But yeah, usually older glitches still work in older levels :p
Oh ok, sorry for this misinformation. :)
Definitive proof that the only reason you should use the d pad is for upwards pipes
I would re-title this video to be "This level is IMPOSSIBLE with a D-Pad." As it is, it makes it sound like the level just required movement inputs, which every level requires when this level actually requires movement inputs that can't be done with a D-Pad.
It's the same
On the contrary, I'd argue this title puts more emphasis on the fact that the joystick is required.
@@gregor8482 When I first saw the title, I was confused about what was so special about the level since I use a Joystick when playing. Saying it can't be done with a D-Pad makes the gimmick far more apperent.
I went with Joystick instead of saying D-Pad because I feel like more people know what a Joystick is, so more people would understand the title, but you do have a good point :p
@@Icayy Nah you're a nerd, impossible with d-pad is definitely better.
This video ends in 145 seconds!
I wonder how many joycon drift jokes will be in the comments
3 is cool
I believe I have dpad only tech in one of my levels
I would be willing to bet that you do not, there is nothing that you can do with d-pad that you functionally cannot with joystick. It may be a lot harder, but it should still be possible in every scenario. If you could disprove that I would be very interested as I've wanted to make a d-pad only level as well since smm1 days.

Hey Spike!!!
This level is impossible for some controllers, including roughly half to four fifths of all Nintendo Switch controllers.
40 views in 2 minutes :O
Oh wow. I heard of riding a clown car while facing backwards, but I though you could only do it by holding the joystick in one direction while holding the opposite direction on the d-pad. This video says that you can do it with just the joystick.
In that case, do you know of any level that can be cleared only with the joystick and d-pad together, or only with the d-pad? That would be much more interesting, because SMM2 was designed to use the Switch Joycons.
I am unaware of any tech like this if it exists
Well I use joy stick already

I made this :)
An impossible level is an impossible level. You can't say it's "joystick only"
haha joystick goes _s l o w_
if you didn’t have the joystick it *would be* impossible, he didn’t say this level is impossible
@DamonDragon1 its a joke lmao, a reference to TJ "Yoshi" Henry like smh
@DamonDragon1 there isn’t any correlation between that sentence and the title
@DamonDragon1 smh
Ngl everyonr who is anyone already knows joystick is superior
Only thing that makes me use the d pad is getting into pipes above me, since even if I'm holding straight up, half the time I just don't go in the pipe for some reason :P
TRUE.
FALSE
Get outta 'ere DIProgan lmaooo
My Joycon has driftvso I only use the dpad
Schade, dass es gepatched wurde
Nur der erste trick wurde gepatcht, alles danach geht ja noch :)

People who play SMM2 with NES/SNES Joycons: >:I
What
Anyone here while CZcams is broken?
I'm here :)
I liked every comment.
People who use Dpad are 🤡
That is litterally the definition of bad game coding.
Nintendo, you just keep disapointing me....
Bruh
This is great coding
You could argue joystick being functionally advantageous to d-pad is bad game design for a 2d platformer (although I'd disagree with that too), but it's certainly not bad coding. There are no bugs here, just the game intentionally making use of the joystick's analog control.
All these tricks make sense except the conveyor one, how is that one not possible with d-pad?
I think the conveyor one might be possible with D-Pad, but you'd need to keep pressing right at the right speed to walk on the conveyor without moving, which would be way harder than just holding the stick at the right angle :p
It's potentially possible to cheese the conveyor section, but the trick being shown off is absolutely joystick only. If you are walking then you can walk at a variety of different speeds by gently pushing the joystick instead of all the way. If you use d-pad you can *only* push it all the way. There may be a better way to force this trick, but I was struggling to come up with anything that was completely cheese proof of "let's tap d-pad over and over at the perfect rhythm".
At the very least, it's much much much easier with joystick.
