    You have the best content for video creators on CZcams! I feel like so many young creators who haven't experienced halogene lamps, stick to cheap "professional" led light because they don't have anything to compare with... So they focus so much on camera gear and they can't figure out why their shoots are not looking as good as they would want to :))
    So more content like this please ❤

    This answered a question in the back of my mind. I typically run around with a battery powered LED softbox setup, but this convinces me that my tungsten lights need to stick around for when I have the time and space to light a scene.

      @Curtis Judd Very true. I am not even close as good as you are when noticing the difference in colors. It might just be that the cheap LED video looked like it had more contrast, which is maybe what I liked.

    The budget LED seems to have created a very blacked out effect because it’s not reaching the back. So, if that’s the look I was going for, that seems to have done its job. Besides, for some weird reason, I thought it gave decent skin tone….😅

    • @curtisjudd

  • @RavikantRai21490

    Curtis, this is slightly disappointing that in 2023, we still have that gap. I know the Amaran 200X S did great but that's just one light, that means most of the market is not really delivering this level of SSI as the 200X s.

    • @curtisjudd
      @curtisjudd  Před rokem

      Consider that less than 10 years ago, LEDs were not really a viable option for video, at least not at prices like these. That’s some pretty quick advancement.

    Yes, but it’s not just about “color quality” (that would be the minimum requirement for seriously thinking about replacing tungsten (factoring in cost of purchase vs running tungsten HOT 🥵)
    But “throw” - theaters still use tungsten because those lights can cast their spectrum at far greater distances - where you can’t have an - equally good - LED up on the stage with the talent… like a boom mic
