  • Valuable Vintage Jewelry Worth Collecting!
    Today I’ll be showing pieces that are highly collectible. These pieces are valuable and many of them are highly sought after by vintage jewelry collectors. I will also be showing pieces that are currently affordable to collect but will only grow in value over time.

    My motto is "buy what you like" because if it does not sell it is yours to keep or gift to someone. I buy only pieces which are dear to my heart, and I have been collecting for well over 50 years. I now create my own line of designer jewelry, and I plan to sell the items on Ebay in the near future. As an artist, I have an eye for the unusual and the more daring pieces which speak to me. As soon as I have made 200 pieces to showcase and sell, I will make them available to the public.

    I love Miriam Haskell and have some nice pieces. Ditto Hattie Carnegie. I know he’s not as popular but Weiss has beautiful glass. I only buy for myself and inky what I love. I have a Hobe pin which was in the book…many I found in beautiful condition at junk stores years ago! I really like the artisan bracelet..wow! Good investments.

    In your victorian selection I think I spotted one pin that looks like a Baltic amber in silver. It looks like a piece from Russia or Poland from the 70s or 80s. It's hard to tell because there was no close up.

    • @VintageVariety
      @VintageVariety  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I know the one your referencing. Your correct. I didn’t realize it was mixed in with them until I was finished recording. Good Eye! It is Baltic amber and I had guessed mid 70’s although I could be wrong😊

    I love vids that are 20 minutes or less. You have a lot of great content in yours. You mentioned a couple of makers I had never heard of so happy to learn about those. Originals by Robert and Juliano were the ones. I am sure I would have probably picked up pieces by Robert as I usually pick up most signed pieces. You have such a wonderful collection.
    I bought around 400 pieces from an estate sale buyout. I looked at some of it before I purchased but didn’t get a chance to look at all of it. I saw at least 50 necklaces when I looked and knew he had boxes of other items so for $125 it was a great deal. To my surprise I found a YSL necklace with a serial number on it. When I saw it, I knew it was a great piece. Hopefully it is not a fake. I haven’t had time to research fully but did find pieces like it.
    Keep up the great content. I always look forward to your vids. Happy New Year to you and your family!

    When discussing Miriam Haskell and Originals by Robert you say that pieces with 'perer?' are most valuable. What is a perer?

    • @VintageVariety
      @VintageVariety  Před rokem +2

      Hi UDLRUBE. The word parure is a term used for a set of three in jewelry. For example; a necklace, bracelet, and earrings that all go together. A Demi- parure is a set of two. Thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️

  • @julzee111

    Would not say Robert copies Haskell. He worked for Haskell, so how much of her style came from his design?

    • @VintageVariety
      @VintageVariety  Před rokem +1

      Originals by Robert originally known as fashion craft was a company founded by David Jaffee, Robert Levee, and Irving Landsman. There is an old rumor that has gone around for years that one of these founders worked for Haskell but there is no proof. Fashion craft was founded in the 1940’s and the name was changed to Robert( originals by Robert) in the 1950’s. The main designer for Haskell was Frank Hess and it is often argued that many of the Haskell pieces were actually designed by Frank Hess.
