    It is amazing to me that the tiniest, new to the world babies, know instinctively to hold on to mom's chest, while she runs, climbs, or jumps. Their little arms don't look strong enough.

      When they first come out, look at the size of the veins running to their fingers. Anatomically it's evident that gripping is their #1 priority from the moment of birth; it's incredible to see those little fingers clamp onto fur and go white at the knuckles - yet they will not, MUST not relax them! Nature is just fantastic :)

    • @BEV0323
      @BEV0323 Před 5 dny

      They actually come out of the womb grasping onto mom. I seen a video of one giving birth and the baby came out head first, then its arms, started grabbing onto mom and then the bottom half of the baby came out! So yes, they come out of the womb holding on to mom. It's all due to instinct, it's in their genes. 😮

    • @SamDeeksRelovedGuitars
      @SamDeeksRelovedGuitars Před 5 dny

      @@BEV0323 I love how it's hard-wired into the genes... it makes my head hurt trying to imagine how a bunch of DNA inside a load of developing cells 'knows' how to GRAB mom's fur as soon as it's born. No more or less astonishing than any other of nature's miracles... but I never get tired of watching them come into the world. And they're so stupidly cute as well.

    I've always had a soft spot for Booper ever since she befriended tiny Teeny. Poor thing is exhausted and both she and baby Lavender needed nutrition and rest so it was good to see them both content in the end. Booper kind of reminds me of Aggy in Bossy's troop, both were exceptionally baby crazy before they became mothers and I'm sure Booper will turn out to be a great mom just like Aggy did. 🐒

      Seems like anywhere between 10% and 33% of a troops babies will die in the first few months. The smaller troops (not Skullhead) can occasionally have years where a mother loses baby after baby that really cut down on the troops growth. Couple that with males coming of age getting booted out of the troop and females randomly disappearing (Ridgys family I think lost quite a few adult females recently and it was kind of mysterious)
      Since they often live past 15 years it kinda seems like the babies keep exploding the population but I think it’s the fact that we GET videos about newborns but the only time you hear about deaths is when AM mentions someone disappeared

    Lavender is doomed. Booper is not behaving at all like a healthy mother. Lavender is extremely weak and can't get a strong grip, and mom will not position herself so the baby can find the teat. She's either slumped over stuffing her own face or running around dragging the poor baby to find more food to stuff her face. I'm not even convinced booper has milk. That baby should be attached to the teat tightly for the first few days. My opinion.

      Booper does focus on her baby but maybe it's not obvious to everyone. By eating she can produce milk but Booper is also allowed to be tired after giving birth. Lavender is probably only a few hours old in this video. The way Booper looked at and communicated with her baby says it all. Booper love her little girl. It's also a good thing to let Lavender learn how to find the teats and learn how to latch on to it without assistance. If Lavender had been anywhere near starving Booper had helped her. Lavender showed us she can tell her mum when she's not satisfied.

    I thought they were surgically sterilizing these pests.

      They're not pest. They are creatures of God with a heart and soul. Also sterilization program is done randomly and to a few

      Hmm, they seemed to have missed you, too. Send me your location and I'll make sure they get to you during the next roundup.

      Oh yeah, I forgot, deceased ridden pests. Nasty, overbred, flea bitten creatures.
