Mirages in Malbork

- From 2 June to 1 September 2014 french-NATO contingent with Mirage 2000 fighters was based in 22nd Air Base in Malbork,Poland and replaced earlier group with Rafale planes. Later Mirages was changed by dutch F-16s.
On 23 June was 2nd edition of Spotters Day during which I had an opportunity to record 2 of 4 french planes - Mirage 2000C #121 from Fighter Squadron 02-005 "Île-de-France" and Mirage 2000-5F #52 from Fighter Squadron 01-002 "Storks" (fr.Cigognes).
Please note that the pilot from second of these squadrons has in the cockpit a plush stork - mascot of a unit.
Changeable weather and staying at the base until sunset resulted in quite good an interesting footage. This time I am quite happy with my camera work. Some fragments due to my technical limitations simply could not be better. Enjoy!

Loved the bit at 3:09 where the ground crew guys run their hands over the wingtip as the 2000 gently gets moving past them....
I enjoy flying mine in DCS World - L'Armee de l'Aire uses the same module (with some trifling classified extras) as a crew trainer sim !

Ah, the escadre de chasse 1/2 "Cigognes," the squadron in which the fictional comic pilots Laverdure and Tanguy flew the Mirage IIIE! Doesn't operate from Dijon AFB anymore I believe.
Gonna miss the 2000. Together with the F-16 the most beautiful fighters ever conceived.

@Gérard Menvusa That’s why I listed indiscriminate weapons. I left out thermobaric weapons like the MOAB and others though.
@Gérard Menvusa Precision daylight bombing was far less indiscriminate than RAF night bombing of cities like Dresden or USAAF B29 fire bombing raids on cities like Tokyo and Nagoya.

Its a shame that dasault does not offer an upgrade for these planes like Locheed does with F16s
An new AESA radar, bigger screens, Auto GCAS System, Link 16 ,Mica NG capability could keep the plane for 15 years more....

How could be such a fighter jet with only 2 hard points?!
Mirage 2000 have 9 hardpoints in total (4× under-wing, 5× under-fuselage). Aircrafts on this video are prepared for air policing missions (footage is from June 2014, few months after russian aggresion on Ukraine that year) and that's why they are equiped "only" with 2 missile rail launcher (and here only 1 is reserved for a2a missile) on 2 hardpoints under-wing, and 1 fuel tank under centrar hardpoint under-fuselage (so 2 hardpoints under-wing, and 4 under-fueselage are not used at all).

@FUCK SHIT amen pour ton commentaire sauf pour le coup des russes. Faut aimer les france mais à un moment donné faut rester objectif. Les avions russes sont clairement du niveaux du rafale si c'est pas meilleur pour certains. Regarde les reportages sur le sukhoi 57. Crier à la propagande c'est dépassé. La Russie n'a pas de temps à perdre a développer des avions qui marche pas.
