Two more things i believe so but didn't wanna state as facts that make Guile very good are:
1- He is the best character to fight out of burnout imo (Since he isn't very meter reliant) and his neutral control is very good.
2- He probably have the 2nd best level 1 super in the game after Luke, Sonic Hurricane let him punish way too many things.
Anyways, this isn't a NERF Guile now video in any ways. Just explaining the strength of the character
But seriously tho, Capcom. Nerf Guile.
Guide soon? Loved your Luke guide
He has a case for top 5 but his strong damage combos have to come off of perfect booms which isn't guaranteed. Take that away he just averages around 5500 damage with level 3. I still think JP, Luke, Ken, and Juri is better
@@JoshT4life NuckleDu ran a FT10 against iDom on stream.
Perfect Perfect Perfect Perfect Sonic Boom Perfect Perfect Perfect Sonic Boom Perfect ....
No one will hit everything all the time but strong players are going to hit it a lot of the time.
@@JoshT4lifePerfect Booms really aren't difficult to get consistently if you have a hitbox or good stick.
The biggest nerf to guile from Street fighter 5 to Street fighter 6 was his theme music
all of the music pretty much sucks and is mediocre
The frame meter wasn't bugged, you just recovered before the boom hit blanka so it reset the string.
Ah, i see thank you
I think Daigo has convinced himself that Guile is weak so he doesn't feel obligated to play him for another 6 years.
He's not playing him at all.
He actually said Ken is more fun than guile. There is no mystery reason
Thank you mura for making this video and using guile old sf5 theme I didn't notice I freaking missed it so much when i used him.
Knuckledu's Guile is amazing!!
Good insights, including the exapmles shown. Solid vid. Thanks.
You forgot down heavy punch as antiair.. it reaches very high and it punishes very well, it can also combo into flash kick if its a punish counter... it is also very good against honda buttslams
Good video ! Learned alot watching. You should do this for every character
Congrats on 800 videos man, came a long way
Guile was the second character i tried out on launch and have mained him since. Feels so strong and quite a few fun new tools.
Used to be my main in SF4, skipped 5. Love him in 6 but need to find a good guide. I LOVE your Luke guide, maybe you can do the same for Guile?
He plays a lot like sf4 guile but with better sonic booms
Just watch Nuckledu or Akainu's Guile. They both have the strongest then I'd say Caba after.
@@JoshT4life i prefer the no.1 ranked Guile, Shooting! is his userid if im not mistaken.. he plays so basic, almost no flash at all but very effective
I've been maining him since V and was surprised when Daigo said early on that he didn't think he was as good due to the new mechanics in VI if I'm remembering correctly. I think he's been quite strong.
Daigo probably got bored because he used him a lot throughout 5. Ken is stronger anyway and have way more mixups
I must be one of the weird ones who actually enjoys playing Guile. I think it comes from playing Cammy in SFV, who does best against him imo. I play Ryu now but a lot of the matchup principles have stayed with me
Great vid
He used to be even crazier in the beta. People found a 98% combo with him
Well yeah, some combo videos show Bazooka Knee, Cr.Lp xx Flask Kick as a combo. Of course, this isn't possible anymore.
Great video. I've mained Guile since SF2 and this is easily his strongest incarnation since at least Super SF4 and S1-2 SFV. Daigo downplaying him as much as he is low-key convincing me he's either in denial or hasn't really played enough good Guiles to see how all-around dominant he is in the SF6 meta, imo.
His buttons are amazing
Not only is Guile king of the slow boom > drive rush game he also shuts down the queen pretty hard with upside down kick.
Timed correctly you will almost always knock Juri back while the fireball passes under you and spaced correctly it is very difficult to punish if it is blocked.
I really want R Mika!! Her anti Air as a quarter circle is too fun.
I hope she comes back too
Heck with it yall go put a Guile in your pocket - no need to ditch your main but this seems nice to have as a secondary :]
I believe this is a nerfed Guile. They took away his dive Sonic which was excellent for hopping over projectiles and countering. He has Sf4 flash kick again. His crouching forward kick has horrible recovery (has good reach though), and a lot of his moves leave him open to be punished if the opponent blocks(double sweep). But I love this character, very fun to use. Excellent video. Glad this game is getting a lot of attention, and this is just season 1.
I wish all sf6 players a very pleasant evening(Except guile players)
guile guide pls sf 6
Can you do a how to counter guile video please
This!
He kinda did by explaining Guile's strengths and few weakneses. Now you know you should never jump at him, never do anything if you blocked or parried his sonicboom, and try to never get cornered by him. Also you know the only thing you can do against him that is not a gamble is to DI his inverted kick... if he ever does it.
Good luck.
@@ardidsonriente2223 This is not correct.
You jump in on guile when he doesn't have a flash kick charged, which you can see by his movements. If he walks backwards or forwards, he doesn't have a charge.
Good players hide their charges and use normals as movement tools to keep a charge, sobat and kneee bazoka.
He can hide a flash charge after a boom and after his normals, like HP, bHK, sobat or knee bazoka so dont jump in on him there.
I mean if you cant handle guile this is a fundamentals problem and you need to learn how to handle basic zoning, which guile is the archetype.
To counter guile you have to edge into mid range where you can punish his booms by jumping, so you read the boom and jump in on him, or you force yourself in closer by blocking that forces him to not be able to throw booms (as he knows he will get punished by a jump in) which forces guile to play neutral with normals.
His actual neutral game is guiles weakness, as he is a keep away character. Though he still has good normals.
Pretty much same as every zoner in every game.
If you don't know how to handle guile I recommend to watch the Capcom cup match of itabashi vs Daigo, it shows strong fundamentals against guile and that works here as well, just be patient, guile has a safer game plan and gets rewarded with way less effort but if you can force him to play more natural you can lab which moves can punish him, he's still very strong, imo he has only two bad matchups
The issue in this game is that Guile does have an anti-air walking back with lvl1 and lvl 3 super, which is kinda wild.
Guile is awesome. been a guile main since sf2
I think the one thing we all got out of this vid was... nerf Kimberly. 😂
@SpiteHook it was sarcasm and its funny you didn't pick up on it.
@SpiteHook thats the joke bro lol
I did placements for guile in the first week, somehow despite spamming buttons with marissa and getting her to diamond, or climbing out of gold with blanka, my guile and zangief were stuck in silver.
Placements in this game are broken man.
I mean I went 1W-9L with rashid and still got him to top silver yet my guile was in silver 2.
He is most consistent!
He is strong. You can play SF2 with him and hang in Diamond. I use him as a change of pace random fun character and I don't use driverush at all or drive cancel, I straight up sf2 with him and I hang in Diamond jut fine. I don't even use his supers.
If we are gonna ask for nerfs to sf6 at all, start with guile for sure
He’s also just no fun to play against XD At least when the Marissa does her target combo for the tenth time I know _they’re_ having a good time haha, and a Ken is gonna smoke you with a whole bag of tools, not just three. I do like that fireballs mean something again, but rt I’d rather fight a jp
Yeah, at least JP has a lot more risk involved w his zoning tools due to their generally high recovery. Guile is so damn safe on everything he does, and he's got a better walk speed to boot.
I hate this character and him being good makes it worse.
“Waaaah”
-you. Bet you’re a cammy player
@@AlgaeEater09 You lost the bet.
@@ZER0lPTKen or Luke player then
@@h3artcxxk Congratulations you won nothing!
I main Kenough.
If you hate the original characters - why do you play then?
I should switch to Guile 🤔
czcams.com/video/X3D4pes_G4o/video.html, daigo also has trouble dealing with guile. not sure why he still thinks guile is not that good.
CMON Mura... if we listen to you, EVERYONE is TOP tier beside Lili, Zangief, Manon and Ryu...
Sounds like a fun game xD
My joke is you said modern Chun bad. Can't trust anything now! Lol jk
Confirmation Bias. How is he not top tier:
1. There's no chip damage from SB's anymore.
2. You can parry SB's now.
3. Parry is far easier than SF3 - just press or even hold a button as opposed to forward or down, sacrificing block.
4. His Flash Kick (FK) is now 5f SU, instead of 4f
5. His Upside Down Kick is now -12 and you can't combo into Cr.Lp xx FK
6. His CA1/SA1 brings the opponent forwards allowing you to easily punish on block.
7. St.Mk is now 5f, down from 4f.
8. SB's are -3 now.
The frame difference is negligible, the frames of things have been changed in SF6 to cater for parry, hence why most normals are minus on block.
parry is way easier in third strike what? 10 frame window holding forward vs 1 frame window pressing mp+mk, and you get a way better reward for parry in 3
@@StinkyremyFirst time in 30yrs Flash Kick frames have been changed, 6yrs for UDK and more.
@@sniffs_It's not 1 frame, it's the same as SF3 and you cannot fail Parry unlike in SF3 where holding the wrong direction of the block forfeits blocking; heck you can auto-parry by holding down mp + mk. If Guile were top tier, it's in no way because of his special moves.
@@FreebyrdFayelanxperfect parry is a two frame window. Regular gives you zero frame advantage. Sure you aren't getting chipped but while you're walking him down he's building super. Guile's specials are stupid good. Sonic blade us obnoxious. To think he's not that great you'd have to be playing at low levels
First!
5-5 matchup
I don't think guile is top tier, it's hard for people who cannot footsie and rely on jumps.
Who is top 5?
@@danielzavala3746Whatever anyone says it's wrong. You have to decide for yourself.
If guile wasn’t a charge character literally everyone would play him to win.
I think JP is better than Guile. Mark my words on this.
Definitely on full screen zoning.
I have JP in top 4, also he eats Guiles for breakfast
He’s top tier to the mofo’s that have no footsie game lol ..Guile stops a lot of people from jumping and that’s what plagues a lot of players because that’s where they get most of their damage from ..If you learn a good ground game and wiff punish game ,you should have no problem against guile ..He has way too many bad mu to be top tier ,I’d say A+ at best .Guile can’t tap you in your legs from far away and dr I to a 40-50% combo like some of the other characters..
Way too many bad MUs? You can't be serious. The only MU he actually clearly loses is JP. He is even or stomps almost every other MU. And he's only top tier if you have no footsie game? LMAO bro get real. How the hell are you whiff punishing Guile? No good Guile will ever whiff buttons on you because Guile's buttons all have absolutely insane range. He has god-tier neutral tools that make playing any sort of footsies against him very, very difficult. Guile has a better footsie game than 99% of the roster. I guess top players have no footsie game, that must be why they all struggle against guile and say he's clearly a top 2 character. The only char better than Guile is arguably Luke and that's because he legit has zero losing MUs. He's a clear S tier character, stop downplaying XD
Guile players have the best normals and fireballs in the game and think they are actually good at footsies lol.
@@D4C_267 you can damn sure play footsies with guile ! You never seen a st LK in dr punish ? ..Watch caba and Du and tell me they don’t play a solid footsie game .
@@kriscotd76 You’re carried
@@D4C_267 ohh yea ? He’s that easy the play but he’s down at the bottom for least played character .Yea that makes since idiot .
Yeah, Guile is a good zoner, but have y'all tried CQC Guile? A Guile that wants to be in your face instead of zoning is scary, lmao. He's arguably much more terrifying as an unga bunga character.
Extremely boring and safe gameplan. He's the only truly unbalanced char in the game, IMO.
Not even Honda?
Block, walk forwards. Occasionally jump or Party. No more chip damage. Easy to get close to him now.
Boring? No way, depends how you play. There is no such thing as a game plan. This is by far the most balanced SF game in history. Have you ever spent thousands of hours playing SF2 or SF3.
@@FreebyrdFayelanxgreat theory fighter, but you can't parry every Boom. Guile is still building meter the entire time and chipping away at theirs, and he does that better than most of the cast. Very few characters have a consistent way around good Boom pressure, he can't zone forever in SF6 but unlike in older games, Guile can also switch to offense and be just as good. Get around Booms and you have to deal with his godlike buttons and AAs. The fact is at a high-level Guile is 6-4 vs the entire cast except maybe JP and Luke, I've mained him myself since SF2 and imo you're downplaying hard
Stupid game, run the same 3 sequences in mix, dumb game
